Hello beautiful people. Why do we desire more in life when we already have some?
As human beings, we cannot be perfect, we can be excellent but we live in an imperfect world that brings happy moments and sad moments to our lives, and the way we think we can deal with these things is to desire more and want more.
What we all seek when we want more power, wealth, or fame is simply perfection and that doesn't exist. We cannot find it in that power, fame, or wealth, we cannot find more in those things.
Contentment is within us.
Let's examine the secret of becoming contented.
- It lies in our ability to appreciate what we have and who we are.
We accept this because we can see so much that we have already accomplished in life and we see this as our true condition. We have the freedom to choose that the source of our joy is within not out there in material things or accomplishments.
There was a wealthy who lived in a city that had a lot of natural resources, he was a businessman and whenever there was a shortage of anything in his business, he would become worried and restless. One day he went to meet the sage in the village to explain to him that he had a problem D when he experienced any shortage, he was always worried. The sage listened to him and asked him to come the next day and that he would tell the wealthy man the solution to his problem, the secret of being worry-free.
The man left and returned the next day.
The next day he returned to find the sage searching for something outside his house, after waiting for a while, he asked what was missing and the sage said his ring. So the wealthy man decided to join him in search of it.
They searched the environment and every inch of the ground was covered, it took them hours and when they failed to find the ring, the rich man asked the safe a question that had been on his mind.
"Where did the ring fall?" The wealthy man asked.
"My ring fell inside my house while I was dressing up but since it was dark, I decided to come outside to search for the ring." The safe replied.
"If it fell inside your house, you are supposed to search for it there and not here. Why have we been searching aimlessly outside when we could have found it by putting on the light in the house hours ago." The wealthy man complained.
"Ah, so you realize it. That is the solution to your problem. The happiness and peace you have been searching for is within you. All you need is to turn on the light, your wealth and riches will not give it to you. Everything you need is within you. Search for it there. You cannot have the entire sea of happiness within you and be searching for water outside with a spoon." The sage responded.
The wealthy man was enlightened.
