THE PAIN OF LOSING A RELATIONSHIP

It hurts when you miss someone and it can cause sadness, loneliness and a feeling of being empty. It can be a challenging moment for you when you lose someone who is close to you or when a friend relocates to a distant city. It could be more emotionally demanding when you can't get over the breakup with your partner. The thought of missing and wanting to get back to your ex can hurt badly.

Come to think of it. It may sound unreasonable to want to go back to someone who you have ditched because of one bad behavior or another which they possess. This may happen because you miss the beautiful moments you shared together or there are some specific things you miss about the person. These kind of feelings can make you feel sad to the extent of wanting to lose it. It may even be difficult for you to pay attention to other things because your are always thinking about them and wish you can be with them again.

It may even be as bad as you weeping and having sleepless nights when the person's thoughts cross your mind. You may even want to go a step further by scrolling through your mobile phone to call or text. Or even thinking of paying them a visit. I have seen people who refuse to eat or sleep for days because they miss someone. These feelings may look awkward but they are somewhat normal. These feelings may appear and disappear after sometimes but it is advisable to seek help if it is lasting longer than usual. Urgent professional help is required to prevent it from getting too serious.

We experience different types of changes in our life and some of them have to do with losing our relationship with people. It is often difficult to deal with not being able to spend time with someone that we have once spent so many years with. Losing a romantic partner or loved one that we do things in common such as eating, cooking, playing video games, hanging out, etc can be very tough to handle.

Building and nurturing relationships is an essential part of our life but it is quite unfortunate that not all of them last as long as we would have loved. We experience so much pain and sadness when these relationships are cut short. Sometimes, we end some relationship because we find it difficult to handle the person's excesses but after some time we are longing to be with them because we actually miss those excesses. Funny, right?

The best thing you can do if you are in this situation is to give yourself room to heal. You'd realize that after some thing you may discover that those feeling will reduce drastically. You may feel that way because the break up is still fresh in your head. You may be making a mistake of getting into an abusive relationship one more time because you didn't give your heart time to heal. You can fast track your healing process by engaging in activities that make you happy such that make you meet new people. This will enable you to forget the experience you've had in the last relationship.
