Inktober D-3: Crown

Day 3 and I'm still on track OwO and I hope to stay on track XD
So far the rain is keeping me indoors, so all my extra energy goes into drawing and studying for the Hangeul classes I enrolled in. It should start next week but I just wanted to brush up on my skillset. I used to know how to read and write in the language, you know.
Moving on to the prompt, today's prompt word is Crown. I wasn't hoping to go for such a glamorous crown but of a crown of thorns because that's what feels like the crown I own and currently wear. idk my headaches run this deep XD

Materials: Ink, Black pen, marker, white gel pen, chalk
Duration: 2 hours

This wasn't actually the original idea I had in mind. I was gonna go for something gray then maybe with more drapes of cloth but I kind of trashed the idea because my pens just would not cooperate with me in going to thinner streaks.

So, I trashed the idea and went with something a little darker and a bit edgier just so I wouldn't have to adjust my hands that much. Let's face it, it's not easy adjusting your hand weight from work mode to art mode so my hand is a little heavier usually after work. But I still managed a nice sketch that I finally settled on ^^

Then I pulled out my handy dandy marker and went shading the darkest parts. I actually am just trying to use up all my markers at this point because it takes up sooo much space in my pencil case and if I plan to travel soon, I need to really use up a lot of my things, including the markers and pens.
I actually did forget to take a lot of pictures of my drawing progression because I've been watching anime while also doing the drawings and I find it to be so therapeutic. Maybe a little overstimulating but it tires my brain out after and helps me fall asleep, so I have no complaints on how my art process goes now ^^ I'm just happy I'm still on track

this may have been an hour in, and I was already working on shadows on the face and more black on the hair/veil thing. This was also before I added highlights and tried to figure out how to make the cloth look more transparent before I ultimately gave up XD

All in all, I think it looks pretty okay? I just haven't had enough time to really go back to how i used to draw because some of my pens just really aren't functional anymore ;;-;; either that or this year just isn't my art year ;;-;;

Anyway, that's day 3 for me and maybe when the payouts come, I'll do a bit of pen shopping just so I can have better quality art
