“Money cannot buy happiness.” This is a sentence all of us would have heard at various points of our lives. Some of us would have said so at various instances. The question is do we really believe this ideology? Perhaps, it is a cliché that we use to console us when we don't have the abundance of it; or may be this cliché is told by them who take those happiness for granted that are brought to them by money. If someone is ungrateful it does not mean that money couldn't buy happiness. It is one's fault to overlook the joys and ease one would lack without money.
Ask the importance of money from those who cannot buy medicine for illnesses in their families, who goes to bed, who cannot provide quality education to their kids, who cannot buy the fruits of their choice, who has to see the sadness in her kid's eyes for not being able to provide a bottle of milk. Wouldn't the presence of money take them out of these sufferings and replace them with happiness and satisfaction?
I know money cannot buy everything. There is not anything that can bring or buy everything, is there any ? But it doesn't mean at all that money lacks the ability to buy happiness. If I look at my life I would claim that money bought me happiness and if I have more money I would buy more happiness. Only about two years ago I didn't have a smart phone. Because of lack of money I couldn't buy one. When I finally got my device I found my way towards blogging. I found a tons of opportunities to grow and nourish my personality. I found several friends whose company not only facilitated my growth as a writer but also helped me resolve my real life conflict. Writing is something I have loved since ever. It is my passion. The availability of money opened up an array of opportunities to pursue my passion and dreams. I feel happier than before. Moreover, the crypto blogging brought me more money and I could buy things that I had been longing for long. The possessions brought me happiness. Above all, it brought me the sense of freedom and autonomy. It boosted my self esteem and confidence. Overall, the little money spent on buying a smart phone brought out a happier me. I am pretty sure if I didn't have my smart phone, my happiness level would be low.
Further, there are certain things in my life that rob my peace; there are certain areas at which I want to create more ease. All of it is possible via money. For instance, I feel restrained for being in a joint family system. I want to furnish and decorate my home and kitchen my way (Home decor always gives me real happiness), but I cannot act according to my will. I arrange something in one way, it is destroyed by another member. If I have had enough money to afford my home I would definitely feel happier, wouldn't I? Instead of wasting time in the stupid hustle and bustle of my present routine life, I would have more time to spend in activities that I love. Wouldn't it bring me more happiness? It surely would.
Money is the basic need of life that has the power to create ease and comfort in our lives. It facilitates the arrival of happiness in our lives by opening up opportunities at various levels. It is this importance of money that makes it a great motivation for work, as @samminator narrates an incident in his post Financial Tips 1: Being Motivated By Money
A few days back, I was part of a particular online discussion about money and a topic was raised: "would you still continue with your daily job with the same zeal and enthusiasm if you are not paid for it or if money is not involved?" To my surprise, almost everyone was quick to say that they will ditch the job and look for another one. This made me to understand that "money" or any other remuneration is one of the fundamental motivators for engaging in any form of work.
Glad your money could buy you happiness haha, at least to a large extent possible. A time is coming when you will be completely free from living with family and you will be happy too. For a fact money can not buy everything. I pray your happiness be permanent. How are you doing today?
Nothing can bring everything, but my point is money is an important element of a happy life. Presence of money doesn't ensure happiness, however, absence of money ensures suffereings, doesn't it? Thanks for stopping by @adoore-eu
Money can't buy happiness but at least it can give us a stand in the line of qualified happiness buyers.
These days many delights are all around the money, and directly and indirectly, we desire to have this.
This is the conclusive point where no one can disagree.
These days?????? It has been since ever since the invention of currency
(I mean excluding the time when there was barter trade) How can anyone even buy food without money
Happiness is relative. What happiness means to one person isn't same to another..when people say money cannot buy happiness, it means that they have seen and tasted this money but it didn't bring any happiness to their lives because what they believe they need to be happy may be something money cannot buy like companionship, love, children, peace of mind etc.
Money can afford us material things and those whose happiness depends on this material things would surely argue that money can buy happiness.
My question is did they experience a life with a deprivation of money?? They undervalue all the comforts and bliss that are in their lives due to the presence of money, and so they aren't grateful about what they already have.
Is the ability to afford a medical treatment for ones child a material thing? Would we call someone materialistic who needs money for feeding his family?
Money can buy happiness but it won't last long, because it's material things you can buy with money. And these things can get spoilt, it might be stolen or you might even misplace them, at this point you find yourself not being happy.
I'll say is better we gain happiness than buy it.

Have you misplaced your education somewhere, Hope???? The answer is No, for sure. How many Nigerian kids are out of school because of lack of money?

I understand what you're saying, money brings happiness but buying it? I disagree.
If you're sick and there is no cure for it even though you have money will you be happy? If yes then it's fine.
I think there is only a difference in the way of saying. I mean whenever we spend money we buy something, don't we? Money brings happiness only by spending
Hmm?🤔🤔🙃
Money is indeed one of the fundamental necessities of life.
