I think it's more lightly to be the AI. I'm just guessing here but it the variable is hive price it doesn't make sense that it would incorporate anything other than hive.
As steem was not defined in the query it wouldn't look for it. AI isn't that clever...yet.

AI is a misnomer as most of these models are basically llm's.

No one has cracked AI although they all claim it.

I don't disagree with you about AI, but I still think it might still be looking at the price of STEEM. The data point is from around Jan 1, 2018. The price of STEEM was $2.50 or so and then rose over $8 on Jan 3rd. It's not unbelievable to think the point it picked was somewhere in between at that $7 mark.

I agree it sounds plausible given the dates and prices around that time.

Maybe another variable was used by the program to lookup the data? Other than hive/steem?
