Greetings to you all, am a newbie and welcome you to my blog, i want to share with you my first day and love.
It was Friday night and time for my first date. We met online, spoke on the phone every night, and sent a few short texts, so I was hopeful he would be a good choice.
He seemed like a very nice man and had made reservations at my favorite quaint restaurant in Lagos. After dinner we were so engrossed in our conversation, We talked about everything from our childhood memories to our aspirations, and I was amazed by the depth of our connection. It was as if we had known each other for years, not just minutes we didn’t realize the restaurant was closing.
After the date, I was sure he was “nice” but I wasn’t sure if we were a good fit. He said he knew right away. He was a gentleman, he didn’t give me a “real kiss” for ONE WHOLE MONTH!! I thought he was shy. He said “I knew you were the one so I didn’t want to mess things up.” I think that is the thing that made me fall in love with him. He always planned fun dates and took his time getting to know me. It was refreshing. I actually said “I love you” first! I never thought I would fall in love again. I didn’t know a relationship could be so loving. I wanted to be a great partner and person following his lead. I knew our relationship was healthy for me to see.
We wrote our own vows and didn’t share them until our wedding day. Funny thing…I started mine with “when we first met, He started his vows with “From our very first date I knew you were the one.” I went on to say I quickly learned he was the calm to my storm, the, my peace of mind, the peanut butter to my jelly….
That first date was the start of an incredible journey, one that has taken us through ups and downs, twists and turns. But through it all, our love has remained strong, a flame that burns brightly, illuminating our path and guiding us through life's challenges
I am grateful for that first date, for the chance to meet him, and for the love we've built together. He's my partner, my best friend, and the missing piece I never knew I needed.
