Today we started the day feeling a bit uninspired, but my girlfriend @Dianisgreisis was right there to lift me up.

Hoy comenzamos el día poco inspirados, pero ahí estaba mi novia @Dianisgreisis para levantarme el ánimo.
For a long time, I had been thinking about starting my photography studio project—what I dedicate most of my time to. But I never really had the chance to plan it well. Recently, my camera spent several days without charge, and I found myself idle. That’s when I picked the idea back up.
I had already created a name and even a logo, but they never truly convinced me; they didn’t express what I wanted to convey.
Hacía mucho tiempo que tenía pensado hacer mi proyecto para un estudio de fotografía, a lo que suelo dedicarme todo el tiempo. Pero nunca había tenido el tiempo para planearlo bien. Ahora que mi cámara ha pasado varios días sin carga, he estado ocioso todo el tiempo. Fue entonces cuando retomé la idea de mi proyecto.
Antes había creado un nombre e incluso un logotipo, pero no acababan de convencerme; no lograban mostrar lo que quería transmitir.
Today I set out to find a strong name—something I liked and that truly carried meaning. I quickly discovered it wasn’t as easy as I expected.
Hoy me propuse buscar un nombre fuerte, que me gustara y que transmitiera algo. Descubrí que no era tan fácil como pensaba.
I spent about an hour staring at the ceiling, trying to come up with a name. My mind kept drifting to unrelated topics. After turning it over a thousand times, nothing came to me.
Then, like a flash, I thought of checking the dictionary to see if it would suggest a name or a code. “This is so hard,” I thought.
Pasé como una hora sentado mirando al techo, pensando en un nombre. Mi cabeza de pronto se iba hacia otros temas que no tenían nada que ver. Luego de darle mil vueltas, no di con ningún nombre ni se me ocurrió nada.
Rápido como un rayo, se me ocurrió buscar algo en el diccionario, a ver si me decía algún nombre o código. “Qué difícil es esto”, pensé.
I spent almost two hours searching for good names with deep meaning until…
I found four names that caught my attention, but the first three lacked significance and didn’t represent me.
Pasé casi dos horas buscando nombres buenos y con gran significado hasta que…
Encontré cuatro nombres que me llamaron bastante la atención, pero los tres primeros carecían de significado y no me identificaban
And then I found it: NOVA.
The word “nova” comes from Latin and means “new,” because ancient astronomers believed a new star had appeared in the sky. In reality, it’s an existing star that becomes much brighter over time.
It filled me completely—I identified with it 100%. It’s exactly what I want: something that shines more and more as time passes, and something new. NOVA was the name.
Y lo encontré: NOVA.
La palabra “nova” viene del latín y significa “nueva”, porque antiguamente los astrónomos pensaban que aparecía una estrella nueva en el cielo. En realidad, es una estrella ya existente que se vuelve mucho más brillante con el tiempo.
Esto me llenó por completo; me identificaba al 100 %. Es exactamente lo que quiero: algo que brille cada vez más a medida que pase el tiempo y que también signifique algo nuevo. NOVA era el nombre.
I thought I would never find it, but in the end, after hours of searching, it came to me. I wrote it down, and that was my day—the beginning of something new. Something big is coming for me and my career as a photographer.
Today I found the name. Tomorrow I’ll start planning the project to keep moving forward.

Pensé que nunca lo encontraría, pero al final, después de horas buscando, terminó viniendo. Lo apunté y este fue mi día de hoy: el comienzo de algo nuevo. Algo grande está por venir para mí y mi carrera como fotógrafo.
Hoy encontré el nombre. Mañana comenzaré con la planeación del proyecto para seguir adelante.
