And another week has elapsed between posting. Truly though, I haven't quit moving for days, it's just one thing after another, Friday alone I did three social functions between 4 and 10pm. Life is a twister wrapped in a rock tumbler for me right now.
Things have been so amazing though. I landed the internship of my dreams, I got a scholarship for my last year of undergraduate work, my son is going to be stationed in a place where we will get to see him a bit. Good things for sure.
But yesterday, yesterday I went to see my brother. Sometimes the bro and I just need some time together. It's a close sibling thing. As I drove down the hill to pick up a meat lover's pizza and some cheesy bread for the bro and I to nosh on, I found a smile alighting my face.
I do so enjoy spending some quality time with the bro.
My brother lives on top of a mountain above Hauser Lake, it's a very quiet, peaceful, serene sort of place.
Or it was, until Bro and I cranked his rather beefy stereo for three hours of impromptu karaoke dance time.

Before that good timing bit of fun kicked off, I got to check out the cool work my bro has been doing around his place with his new track hoe. In just one day he made it look like a park on the terrace below his house. Bro's pretty talented like that.
It was halfway through belting out "Break My Stride," that I realized I had completely relaxed, I was having fun. It was wonderful.
Bro and I got his cat all hopped up on the nip and had even more fun watching her try to back flip trying to catch the cat toy on the pole he keeps for her to play with. We put her in cat jail, a laundry basket, and she got all the pats and scritches her little high on cat nip self could handle.
That Murder Mittens is a pretty cool kitteh.

Later, my sister in law came home with her youngest granddaughter, who my brother has always affectionately referred to as Greasy Stink Bum. That kiddo and I really hit it off and she was pretending to be a cat too, so when I said, "Hi Cat, I'm Kat," a lifelong friendship was cultivated. (I haven't seen her since she was barely walking). That cat hung out in this little kiddie tent and I used to cat toy pole thing to train the cat to do cat tricks to amuse this Kat, grandma, and grandpa.
When I finally left and drove down the twisty mountain road home for the evening, my heart felt calm and full. Yes, life is pretty intense and more than a bit wild right now, but boy my life has these little moments of pure existential bliss still. I love those. And I am more than grateful for them.

Life is crazy, but I saw several tidbits of good news in there, plus all that fun time with the bro. That's good.
