Yesterday, I had not made plans for a birthday gathering or anything like that. I don't get paid until mid next week, so I was ok with just chilling in the apartament.

However, my nephew's wife called us and told us they'd drop by at night.

They brought cake and booze, so we got some snacks and soda for the girls. They sang some karaoke, we caught up after two weeks without seeing one another and I was able to video-call my children to joint us for a few minutes.

Despite the sadness of having my children in far places like Sao Luis or Lima, it was great to have shared with them some minutes. It will be 6 years this year since they forcefully had to migrate and I can't wait to meet them in person again!

It's not going to be easy, but we're working on it. Reuniting a family is the best present any parent can get!

I'm glad to see your day was made even more special! Nice food and drink with family is a great way to spend any day. We can be thankful that we can video chat with family these days, but of course we do long to see them in person.

Happy Birthday again! :)

Absolutely. As we grow old, I guess we change our definition of what a party is. The quieter and more intimate, the better. Family keeps being the most precious gift!
Thanks, and have a great week

Nunca es tarde cuando la dicha es buena, así que Feliz cumpleaños Henry! Te deseo lo mejor y que todas tus metas sea cumplan!🙏🏻🥳🥳🎂

Gracias, Zu Un abrazo. Espero estén bien!

This is so heartwarming! It's beautiful to see how much you cherish your family, despite the distance. The impromptu party and video call were perfect ways to bridge the gap. Thinking of you and your children, and sending positive vibes for that family reunion!
