Hi, welcome back to my blog! It’s me, @lorene08, and today I want to share a little throwback — my active life was like when I was a kid.

Is it just me, or is it really true what they say — that when you reach your teenage years, everything starts to change? Not only how you look, how you see things but also the people around you—the ones you used to be with aren’t always there anymore.
Back when I was in kindergarten and elementary, I was such an active kid in school. I’m still active now, but before… I was super active! I joined the GSP all the way until I graduated from elementary. It was honestly tiring sometimes, but it helped me learn so many new things — especially during school campings and those fun municipal camps. I may have been a shy type of girl back then, but I still made a lot of friends — not just kids my age, but even the ates who guided us in GSP, and other students from different schools around our municipality. It was such a wholesome and memorable part of my childhood btw.

And I think sharing this part with all of you and looking back at these memories still feels so unbelievable to me — like, I can’t believe I actually joined these kinds of school activities back in elementary! HAHAHA, it’s really funny to think about it now😭😭
But yes, I did join pageants and school programs like Mr. and Ms. I was such a shy girl, but when it came to things like that, I honestly had no choice. Even if like 40% of me didn’t want to because of my stage fright, what could I do? Some teachers and even parents recommended me to join and try it out.

And as someone with a super supportive family — especially my mama, who’s always all in when it comes to things like this — I just went for it! And for me, it turned into such a fun and unforgettable experience, especially because it taught me to slowly step out of my comfort zone and be less shy around people
Now, sharing with you one of the most fun — yet slightly tiring parts of my elementary days. I was once an SSLG officer (but before, we used to call it SSG if I remember it right, hehehehe😄). Yes, I was part of the SSLG, and I actually became a consistent officer every year.

I think I started joining around Grade 3 or 4, and as far as I remember, I began as either treasurer or secretary. Then later on, I became vice president, and eventually, president. It was honestly fun, and it felt so nice knowing that my classmates and schoolmates trusted me with that kind of position in our school. 🫶🏻 Though it was really enjoyable, it was also pretty tiring! I’m pretty sure other school officers back then (and even now) can relate to that feeling. HAHAHA! But still, it was one of those experiences that made my elementary years extra memorable.

Not only did I do all those activities during my elementary days, but I was also chosen to join events both academic and non academic competitions where I got to be one of the students to represent our school — and yes, it was super fun! I am also a member of our school's dance troupe!!

I was also a member of the DLBC Club in our school, and fun fact, guys!! I was supposed to be a lyrist (I even had my own lyre already 😭), but then one parent recommended that I become an assistant majorette instead. And yes, that’s exactly where I ended up! I was in Grade 5 that time, and during my last year in elementary, I officially became a majorette. It was perfect slash bad timing too because when I became a majorette, we joined the Municipal Meet — I think it was for the intramurals or a DLBC competition among schools in San Remigio. And oh my gosh, the embarrassment I felt that time! 😭 I was in front, so I literally had no choice but to smile and dance even though I was super shy lol!

Now, talking about friends — I surely had a lot of them! Even those who were older than me became my friends. And to be honest, I also had my own little circle back then. The cutest thing is that our parents were bffs too! Wherever we went before, our way of bonding was so different — simple, fun, and full of memories.

But yeah, everything changed when I entered high school. Maybe I also blamed the pandemic for that, because my life as a student now feels so different. I wasn’t as active as I used to be. I stopped joining school activities, programs, and clubs. It’s like I went back into my comfort zone again — or maybe I just became scared, since I was already in a bigger school now, unlike before in a small private one.
I’m also not that close anymore with my best friends from before, and even our parents grew apart too. I’m not as confident as I was, even though I had so many experiences back in elementary. Maybe it’s just part of growing up, or maybe it’s me — learning to move carefully in a world that feels a little bigger now.
But even if a lot has changed and many things (and people) have gone, I can’t say my teenage life is boring or scary. Because for everything that left, there were also new things that came. Like my new friends — even though my circle isn’t as big as before, they remind me that sometimes, it’s not about how many people you have around you, but how real they are.

It really feels good to look back on the past, so just enjoy life every memory brings both lessons and smiles. Sometimes reminiscing is the best way to realize how far we’ve come and how much we have to be thankful for.
Indeed,ma'am @jazlove. Those moments remind us to be thankful🤍
You indeed have a fun and memorable childhood. Sometimes it's fun to look back old pictures and remember the joyful and active moments we spent during our younger years.
Thank you miss @nesbi94! I agree, it’s always nice to look back and remember those fun and active moments from our childhood
Yes I agree that sometimes you have to let go of the life you planned to make room for the life that's waiting for you. Life is unpredictable and we cannot control it. Things happen unexpectedly.
Indeed miss @ronimarie82
