This year the spring is very hot (above 35 °C) on Tenerife (2024.04.11)

The temperatures on Tenerife nowadays are extremely high.

It is 10 °C above the usual temperature at this time of the year. Today it went above 35 °C. Mostly because of the Calima (sand from the Sahara desert).

The temperature sensor on the main square of El Médano showed 36 °C shortly after midday/noon.

This is rather feels like summer than spring.

Despite the heat, the ocean shore is not that crowded (yet?).

The visibility (the range of vision) is greatly reduced because of the Calima.

Maybe the weather looks rainy at first sight, but actually there is no rain at all. This is only the Calima. The weather is very hot and dry. The Montaña Roja is still visible.

The mountains in the other direction is not so much. The haze is very thick. This is the thickest Calima I have seen so far (since the Spring of 2023, the first time I arrived on Tenerife).

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

Sending a gust of cold wind in the form of Ecency Vote! :)

I certainly saw 37 °C in the afternoon, and it is still 31 °C in the late afternoon/early evening (at 18:45 WEST).

Thank you for the Ecency upvote.

Las fotos están fenomenales

Gracias. Las tomé en El Médano y en el semidesierto rocoso (entre El Médano y San Isidro) con mi smartphone Motorola Moto G22.
