Greetings to my people of Hive especially this nice community of design + architecture. In this opportunity dear friends I want to invite you to know an architecture / sculpture known as the tower, located in the northwest corner of the metropolitan area of Maracay, in the center of a traffic circle back to the center of the city and on the western slope of the Henri Pittier national park.
Saludos a mi gente de Hive en especial esta linda comunidad de diseño +arquitectura. En esta oportunidad queridos amigos les quiero invitar a conocer una arquitectura / escultura conocida como el torreón, ubicado en el extremo noroeste del área metropolitana de Maracay, en el centro de una redoma de retorno al centro de la ciudad y en la falda oeste del parque nacional Henri Pittier.
I had the opportunity to observe this structure with my eyes, and I felt the desire to get a little closer to observe the details. When I saw it I really had no knowledge that it was a tower, I had never seen one, so I thought it was a simple tower. To my surprise, when I searched for information to learn a little about what this structure was really about and I was a little surprised by what I found and that is that this tower, has been built for many years is curious because it is still standing there intact, although it is not in the best conditions because it has had to survive the floods and overflows of the area and has even gone through remodeling process even so, it is still a monument that is to be admired because in its time it was very useful for the production and economy of the inhabitants.
Tuve la oportunidad de observar con mis ojos esta estructura, y sentí el deseo de acercarme un poco más para observar los detalles. Cuando vi realmente no tenía conocimiento de que se trataba de un torreón, nunca había visto uno, así que pensé que se trataba de una simple torre. Para mi sorpresa, cuando busco información para conocer un poco acerca de que realmente se trataba esta estructura y me quede un poco sorprendida por lo que encontré y es que este torreón, lleva muchos años construido es curioso porque aún está allí intacto de pie, a pesar que no está en las mejores condiciones porque ha tenido que sobrevivir a las inundaciones y desbordamientos de la zona e incluso ha pasado por proceso de remodelaciones aun así, no deja de ser lo que es un monumento que es de admirar ya que en sus tiempos era de gran utilidad para la producción y la economía de los habitantes.
It is made of adobe brick and mortar. It was built in the 19th century and is currently known as a symbol of the municipality. In its years it was known as "El Torreón", also as a chimney. The land where the tower is located was from the time of the Spanish conquest, where sugar cane fields were cultivated for the production of sugar cane. At that time a mill known as "trapiche" was used for the extraction of the juice and it went through a cooking process for the crystallization of the sugar.
Está hecha de un material de ladrillo de adobe y argamasa. Fue construida en el siglo XIX y se le conoce actualmente como símbolo del municipio. En sus años se le conocía como “El Torreón”, también como chimenea. Los terrenos donde se encuentra el torreón fueron desde la época de la conquista española, donde se cultivan los cañaverales para la producción de la caña de azúcar. Para ese entonces se usaba un molino conocido como trapiche para la extracción del jugo y pasaba por un proceso de cocción para la cristalización del azúcar, dicho torreón era usado para la cocción del jugo luego que era extraído de la caña.
The tower measures 14 meters. It is a pentagonal plant of white color, and by its surroundings a yellow fence is observed. This has lighting and iron seats for those who wish to contemplate and spend a pleasant moment, since around it is a park surrounded by vegetation and although it is not in the best conditions, some people visit it to enjoy the view and the environment. It is currently an agricultural and historical monument for the community because it is the only remaining vestige of the hacienda where papelón, sugar, aguardiente and cheese were produced.
El torreón, mide 14 metros. Es una planta pentagonal de color blanco, y por sus alrededores se observa una cerca de color amarillo. Esta cuenta con iluminación y asientos de hierro para los que deseen contemplar y pasar un momento agradable, ya que a su alrededor esta un parque rodeado de vegetación y aunque no está en las mejores condiciones, algunas personas lo visitan para disfrutar de la vista y del ambiente. Actualmente es un monumento agrícola e histórico para la comunidad por ser el único vestigio que ha quedado de la hacienda donde se producía el papelón, el azúcar, el aguardiente y el queso.
the park can be found across the avenue, it has a skating rink, some seats and many trees.
el parque lo podemos encontrar cruzando la avenida, este cuenta con una pista de patinaje, algunos asientos y muchos arboles.
It really is an imposing structure that at first sight enhances its style, allowing the inhabitants to feel proud of having such a tower that in its time was of great importance for the Spaniards. The moment I was there I felt well pleased, the atmosphere is fresh and you can contemplate the whole space but not only that, I was delighted listening to the birds singing while watching the tower. Note that it is at a point where vehicles pass by and many people can see it.
Realmente es una estructura imponente que a simple vista realza su estilo, permitiéndoles a los habitantes sentirse orgullosos de tener dicho torreón que en sus tiempos fue de gran importancia para los españoles. El momento que estuve allí me sentí bien agradad, el ambiente es fresco y se puede contemplar todo el espacio pero no solo eso, me deleite escuchando los pájaros cantando mientras observaba el torreón. Observe que está en un punto donde pasan vehículos y muchas personas lo pueden ver.

That's right, this is a very simple structure but in its time it was of great value and even for this city, it has been a historical monument of great significance.
