This is the wonderful Legislative Palace of Peru

First of all, I want to greet those who make life in this prestigious community. A few months ago I published content with some frequency here, but since then I did not make many walks in which I could record moments or photos which I could share with the community; however, it seems that now I will have more free time to walk the streets of the city where I live and along with that surely will appear structures or buildings worthy of receiving a worthwhile review.

In previous publications I have shared images of historic buildings located in the historic center of the city of Lima as the Church of La Merced, the Government Palace of Peru, the Plaza Dos de Mayo, the Colegio Santo Tomás de Aquino, the General Archive of the Nation and the Campo de Marte, but this time I will share with you images of the Legislative Palace of Peru, which is the seat of the Congress of the Republic of Peru.

Next, you will see an external tour from the right wing of the palace to the left wing and a little more, unfortunately guided tours in the internal part are temporarily suspended so that will be for another time.

According to the technical information, the construction of the Legislative Palace began in 1906, the architects were Emilio Robert and Ricardo de Jaxa Malachowski who gave it a Beaux Arts architectural style, a style of which I know very little and I thank those who can give me some reference. The first visual impression it gave me reminded me of the White House building in the USA, maybe because of the windows or the long and imposing columns, of course the congress building has many more details, but I don't know, that was the first image that came to my mind.

The color of the building is not exactly white, I think it is more like pearl or some similar shade; it is noteworthy that the entire building has the same color, ie, no variations. On the other hand, I was able to observe two types of windows, some were completely square and others with arches at the top, but all of them were made of wood and transparent glass. The whole area that corresponds to the Legislative Palace is protected by green fences of about two meters which are joined by white square columns, but in addition to that, there is a lot of security in the surroundings since it is a place where many protests are held.

In the central part, we can see a statue of Simon Bolivar, a Venezuelan hero famous for liberating countries such as Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru from the Spanish juice back in the 1800s. I was very struck by the fact that the green areas are quite extensive and in perfect condition, as you can see, there are also many trees surrounding the central square, which generates a more colonialist feeling of the place. Also, we can see flags of different American countries both on the inside (immediately in front of the palace) and on the front outside.

Visiting this place was satisfying because as I said before, it is a place of many protests and therefore is usually very mediatic, however, it was interesting to see how calm it was, so it was certainly a good day to admire the beauty of this building that adds to the record of places and structures of the city of Lima that I have shared with you.

As a little extra, I will leave you 3 photos of places that are in the surroundings of the legislative palace that I found quite striking, so I did not hesitate to add them to this publication. To be frank, I do not know the names of these places, in fact, they seem to be abandoned or under renovation, but what is certain is that one of them is a church.

Yes, it's beautiful! The centre of Lima never ceases to amaze me!

Definitely Lima, has large and beautiful buildings, the legislative palace is impressive and the amount of decorative elements make it striking, the environment I love abundant vegetation and clean spaces, beautiful photographs.

Greetings!

Sii Lima has a lot of European style architecture and they are very imposing, it is a very beautiful city, thank you very much for your kind support!

The posts where you have shown places like this are amazing; Lima has incredible buildings that beyond its history, generate an atmosphere of admiration because they perfectly adorn the city.

You are very right, it looks a lot like the White House that's why it is so visually imposing. The level of detail of the last structure is beautiful, I hope they recover it and give it more value, it certainly looks like a church.

A building with large spaces. Its construction is regal.

Yes, I was amazed just by looking at it! Lima has a dreamlike architecture.

Sobering architectural works that show part of the wide history of the Spanish colony in Peru. These buildings are beautiful and embellish the city.
