Emblematic buildings of the farthest city in the world (Es-Eng )

in Architecture+Design2 years ago

Very happy to be with you again in our wonderful ¨ArchitectureDesignCommunity¨:  We who are passionate about architecture and design have been lucky when our friends @storiesoferne @aplusd decided to create this space where we can publicize the emblematic buildings of our cities. This is another post where I share images of our last vacation in Ushuaia; I had told you that my eldest son Iván settled in this beautiful bay, since we had not seen him for a long time, we decided to visit them and enjoy a beautiful walk through this city. As we have published many images of the buildings in the city, you may think that we visited the peninsula with the sole intention of taking pictures of the buildings; However, that was not the intention, but once in the place and seeing the exquisite constructions of the city, it became impossible not to make these photographic materials to document the buildings of times with endless styles. I want to deeply thank our friends @storiesoferne @aplusd for the enormous support they provide each week to our posts, they do an incredible job of projecting our publications that make them receive the support of the curators; This is not the case in all communities, so I want to highlight the great work they do and set 15% of the post for this wonderful ¨ArchitectureDesignCommunity¨:

¨Ushuaia¨ is the dream city for those of us who love period buildings and the different styles of constructions that exist; It is surprising that for being a relatively small city, it hosts so many styles; On this occasion I want to introduce you to two properties that you will not be able to miss if you visit the bay; One is very striking for its structure, and the other for the combinations of bright colors

This property stands out for its construction style, for its enormous size, for the combination of materials that have been used for its construction, and as if that were not enough, for its history; A building that has been standing for almost 130 years, in all this time it provided a lot of service to the province; Governors have lived in this emblematic place, it functioned as a police station, and currently houses a lot of important information that has to do with the history of "Ushuaia". ¨ Named ¨historical¨ ¨national monument. ¨: The property is huge, it has access through several streets of the block, which makes it look imposing

In the images we can appreciate the different construction styles, and this has to do with the multiple extensions that the property underwent over time. The original building was small, made of wood and sheet metal; The most striking thing about the construction was its multi-ply roof, crowned with that striking dome, many presence of windows to allow the passage of natural light; The other entrance of the property reveals a very different style of construction, where masonry, exposed brick, and beautiful colonial-style doors and windows predominate; The front is completed by a distinguished balcony built in wood, with large scattered glass windows

This is another one of those constructions that you will not be able to stop admiring, beyond its striking colors, what is striking is its enormous construction and its history; (This covers an entire city block.) It has been standing for more than one hundred and twenty years, in a portion of the land there is a church called ¨Nuestra¨¨Señora¨ de la ¨Merced¨, in another sector of the property there is a school and a huge space for recreation and sports activities

The building has the appearance of traditional basilicas, with the classic bell tower that identifies it, it also houses an exquisite detail, a huge vintage clock rarely seen in church bell towers. A strong presence of masonry in the construction, its corrugated sheet metal roofs with several pitches; Huge entrance doors accompanied by large partitioned glass windows; In some construction sectors you can appreciate the presence of wood that coexists harmoniously with the cement walls; Throughout the building you can see manufacturing detail that personalizes and gives character to the building. The beautiful photographs are captured with a NikonCoolpixB500 camera

It is impressive to see how a person took risks and was successful, now these constructions keep a lot of history, they are emblematic and worthy of admiration, the one that I liked the most was the one that was formerly the police station and the governor's house.

how are you dear friend @oscargonzalez123 good afternoon
I share that it is the most attractive and the one that keeps the most history inside.

That’s good point, thank you☺️ and Im fine, how are you?

Wow, this construction of the city of Ushuaia has been maintained for many years, even so its style has been maintained, like the beautiful basilica, the bell towers are the ones that most attract my attention in a temple. Greetings.

Hello dear friend @carmary good night
Yes, what I admire about these constructions is their state of conservation; The bell towers also catch my attention; I think it's a special attraction
Thank you very much for this pleasant visit and support that you offer to my post
have a beautiful night

Same to you my friend @jlufer happy evening.

Hello, dear friend @jlufer. I'm now starting to become really addicted to the beautiful city of Ushuaia, haha 😁 As you have been featuring this remarkable location many times in the past, I believe the world's southernmost metropolis must have sealed an emotional legacy with you and your lovely family.

So far, what has been your favorite landmark of architecture in this former fishing village and why? 😊

Hello dear friend @storiesoferne good day

As I mention in the post; Our visit to the city was not exclusively about taking photos or videos of the buildings in the city, we had planned to take some shots, but not as many as we have done.

What happened is that every time we visit a place, there is something in the construction of the place that caught our attention.

Although we liked all the wines a lot, but if I had to decide on one, without a doubt, it would be the wooden construction of the alpine chalet.

This is a property that I would like to own, due to its style and character in the construction, in addition, that they are properties that are built to coexist with nature

I take this opportunity to thank you for the enormous support you always give me.

Have a beautiful day

Wow! Excellent choice dear friend @jlufer. That alpine chalet surely looks like a masterpiece of vernacular architecture. I'd probably select that interesting property as well if I was in your shoes. Thank you for your prompt response. Have an enjoyable week! 😊
