Reminds me of departmental stores we had in the 1960s - 1970s three I remember Greaterman's, John-Orr's and Stuttafords in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Today I believe most of these are now split into apartment buildings for living in, also currently a dangerous part of the city.
From a prestigious shopping area into squalor, like many cities in our country.

Very little survived here sadly, yes plenty of memories to cherish from places like you still enjoy today.
