Due to the amount of lives lost in that place, on June 28, 2014, the San Francisco authorities decided to approve a fund to place a steel network to prevent more people from deciding to end their existence from the bridge. The anti-suicide barriers, as they are called, are a stainless steel fence that extends 6 meters from the bridge, supported by structural steel 6 m under the walkway, they began to be installed in April 2017 but have not yet been completed, they are He estimates that the work will be ready by 2023.

Wow! Thank you @marcosmilano71 for telling me about this amazing place. This bridge really has a crazy history)
Hi @olga.maslievich Thank you for commenting on this post. I tell you more, some journalists say that many people travel here for tourism, others for business and others because they have to move from one place to another on a daily basis, but the most curious thing is that, according to some investigations, many people travel miles away to come to commit suicide in this place and worse they have realized that they also come curious to wait for someone to jump from the bridge ... Terrible and cruel!
The truth is that this bridge, in addition to how wonderful it is, in terms of design and engineering, hides a tragic history of fatal events that makes Tyrians and Trojans believe that something utratumbas exists in it. The only thing that I have tried to publish the post was to highlight the 84 years of its foundation and show the extraordinary of the materials that were used in its construction and the magnificent work of modern engineering that is seen in this hanging wonder. Greetings from Venezuela and infinite blessings for you and for your loved ones. NOTE: Sorry I did not answer you before but I did not have an internet connection and they also left us without electricity for the umpteenth time ... This is how we are with this 21st century socialism, unfortunately.
one of the most beautiful and important buildings in the world

I never thought that the Golden Gate is that old. I also never thought that people would commit suicide on the bridge (which makes me sad).
Hi @afterglow Yes, this bridge was built just before WWII. I agree with you in feeling sad for the number of people who decide to end their lives from that place. It is truly terrible. Thanks for your comment. Greetings and blessings.
Hello friend Marcos. Who doesn't recognize the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, USA? We see it everywhere - in movies, postcards, merchandise, books, etc. That's why it's only fitting to celebrate this historic feat of engineering with its 84 years of glorious service to the traveling public.
FUN FACT: Did you know that the cement used in the construction of the Golden Gate Bridge was directly imported from my homeland of Cebu in the Philippines? Our island is extremely rich with the primary raw material used to manufacture cement thus, that's how the story goes. Thank you @marcosmilano71 for this interesting post!
Ooh that's a cool fact, Erne, I didn't know about that. Hello @marcosmilano71, interesting read. I had the pleasure of being able to drive across the bridge more than a decade ago. Back then the anti-suicide barriers were not there yet. That's an eerie thought that such a bridge witnessed lives lost.
Hello friend Arni @discoveringarni I greet you from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. I love that you have remembered your passage through the Golden Gate Suspension Bridge, I imagine it was a beautiful experience. And as for the security gates, according to the information I read about it, it says that they have not yet been completed and that it is estimated that they will finish the work in the year 2023. Thank you for your comment and for supporting this publication. Greetings and blessings.
Hello friend Erne. Receive a warm greeting from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. Friend @storiesoferne I want to apologize for not answering earlier but we were without power from 09:00 in the morning to 04:00 in the afternoon and it is at this time that the internet signal is coming (06:00 in the afternoon ) Venezuela time. I apologize but the truth is that this misnamed 21st century socialism has ended this country. Sorry for the comment. Now, thanks for commenting on this post. I am glad to know that your beloved Philippine Island and the place of your birth Cebu is rich in raw material for cement. Here the cement plants were expropriated and now that material is scarce, of poor quality and very expensive. I greet you with great respect and send you a big virtual hug. Blessings to you my friend. And thank you very much for your support.
What a wonderful tribute to the great golden gate. I remember watching movies, most importantly many graphic designs based on it. Surely this engineering marvel has major importance in the history.
Stay safe and keep flourishing always! @marcosmilano71
Hello friend @praditya I greet you from Venezuela. Sorry I did not answer you before but here the problem with electricity and internet connection has continued. Thanks for your comment. Yes, I wanted to pay a tribute to the 84 years since the opening of this wonderful work of modern Engineering. God bless you.
