Chicago fog can summon strange alien formations on #trippythursday. Most people never even look up to notice the things going on overhead.
The gloom of Chicago fog seems to appeal to other worldly invaders. When it rolls in they slowly begin appearing up above.
Now the conditions are right for the space ships to arrive. The beings that pilot these crafts are unknown.
Just don't stand directly underneath them. They like to shoot laser beams randomly on organic matter below.
The invaders also like to terraform the city when they arrive. This used to be an enclave of office drones.
Now they mashed things up to suit their aesthetic preferences. This is an island restaurant where the only thing on the menu is "to serve man".
Perhaps these invaders are literally made out of fog.
They have to use the buildings to charge their electric space vehicles. This will of course throw the breaker to the whole city.
There is plenty of power to harvest in the city. Their ships will definitely need every last bit of power to open the portal to their dimension.
The fog just masks the portal's appearance to the normies below. The aliens love a good medium rare normie every now and then too.
The fog is beginning to fade.
Now the aliens will blast off back to their dimension leaving a wake of red leaves behind. If anyone who witnessed the event says anything about it a 50s era cadillac will arrive with men in black to erase their memories. Every now and then a few people are missed and they are referred to as conspiracy theorists when they try to warn the oblivious normies.
The next foggy day people will swarm around without a clue as to what strange portals are being opened above them. They just have to rush off to their desk jobs and clock their time. The aliens like to fatten up the office drones this way before preparation. They really perfer coffee brined office drone with a bit of donut fat marbling.
Who knows how long the humans have been on the farm. Perhaps there are many planets out there loaded up with humans on different farming programs. This will vary the diet for the interdimensional alien beings.
Next time the fog rolls in keep an eye out for what is above. If you are lucky to escape the laser beams and men in black perhaps you can live to tell the story about the invaders. The trick will be crafting a narrative that won't get you branded as a conspiracy lunatic... as of now no human has been successful at warning the others.
Perhaps they key is to stay out of the fog zones by going out to the desert to live as a hermit. Beware, perhaps the aliens can use dust clouds and different technology to access the desert zones...
