RE: Sacred architecture of Madrid: the church of San Marcos

in Architecture+Design2 years ago

Hello, dear friend @juancar347. Amidst the seldom chaotic proliferation of modern buildings in a highly developed city like Madrid, historic monuments could possibly be unintentionally buried or secretly hidden within its myriad of urban elements. And this could be the case for the Church of San Marcos, thus becoming unknown to the locals and foreign visitors. Or it could be perhaps people don't pass by that area more often, sealing its visibility from the public. Our sincere thanks to adventurers, thrill-seekers, religious researchers, and architectural explorers like yourself, this spectacular masterpiece of Baroque architecture has been given importance through its celebrated revelation. I simply love its heavenly interior atmosphere. Affectionate greetings! 😊

Certain. In this sense, Madrid is a true amalgamation of styles, which, although on some occasions it could be said that it hides some to the detriment of others, makes the intention of discovering them a true adventure. Especially if we are talking about architecture and art, because we must take into account, as in this case (by the way, the modern tower that can be seen in one of the photographs, contrasting with the church, is not the Ríu hotel, but the Torre de Madrid) that in a matter of meters, one can easily traverse centuries of architectural history. San Marcos is a temple, simple, in my opinion, compared to many other examples, but without a doubt, it is one of the most beautiful of its kind. As always, thank you for your valuable comments. An affectionate greeting.
