RE: Exploring New Establishments!

in Architecture+Design3 years ago

Hello @praditya. I simply admire the way you've opened your post with a cliffhanger. Not revealing what the plane was all about - was a great teaser for readers to continue reading until they've discovered its real function. Converting that aircraft into a restaurant, I believe, is one of the best decisions they've made for the Metro Walk-Adventure Island. It's truly amazing to see business establishments pushing the boundaries of innovations nowadays by creatively building attractions that lure more customers. And architecture has surely played a major role in that pursuit of more profitable ways to thrive.

When you felt that the lighting systems in Bakerz Lodge were too much, are you saying so from a design perspective, the number of fixtures, or something else? Not to degrade that place but to suggest constructive criticisms as an Architect yourself, what measures should they have done in the first place?

Hi @storiesoferne thank you for your kind appreciation and I am glad you noticed the cliff-hanger. You are correct on pointing out the business owners becoming more innovative and pushing the boundaries. It's quite creative though.

Since you asked about the light, I don't know if I am right but I felt it was too much illuminated, I think the lux required for the area must be less than what was implemented. I even suggested that to the owner. He took it really positively.
If I am wrong please correct me.
Thanks a gain for your valuable comment.

Oh great. Thanks for your positive feedback. Yes, it seemed like the bakery/restaurant was overly illuminated, that the lights could be blinding for customers. If there was a dimmer switch or device installed together with the lighting system, it would have been an excellent idea to adjust the light brightness according to the space dimensions. Have an enjoyable week!

You are absolutely correct.
