RE: Art Talk: Rijksmuseum and Gothic Architecture

in Architecture+Design2 years ago

Hello Sara. Fantastic building! Gothic architecture never ceases to fascinate us indeed! Since time immemorial, this architectural style has always been associated with churches and other prominent religious monuments. Hence, to witness the design character being applied to a museum is truly something else - a different encounter! 😊

What Gothic architectural element intrigues you the most and why? How would you describe your experiences of architecture for that historic landmark?

Hi Erne. Nice to hear from you. It has been awhile since I posted in the architectural community. The elements I like most about gothic architecture are the ribbed vaults and flying buttresses because of the beautiful lines it gives to the building. I also really like the stained glass!

Cool! Great choice, interesting feedback!
