Greetings, dear hives and friends of #ArchitectureandDesign.
Today I have once again, the pleasure of taking you on a beautiful, visual journey through my photographs to the Basílica Menor de Nuestra Señora del Valle, an emblem of faith and architecture that rises majestically in the municipality García, El Valle sector of Nueva Esparta state, on Margarita Island.
The devotion to the Virgin of the Valley transcends time and space, becoming the spiritual beacon of the sailors who seek her protection before facing the immensity of the sea. This veneration is reflected in every corner of the island, where fishing is not only a livelihood, but also a tradition that is intertwined with faith.

Hoy tengo una vez más, el placer de llevarlos en un viaje hermoso, visual a través de mis fotografías a la Basílica Menor de Nuestra Señora del Valle, un emblema de fe y arquitectura que se alza majestuosamente en el municipio García, sector El valle del estado Nueva Esparta, en Isla Margarita.
La devoción a la Virgen del Valle trasciende el tiempo y el espacio, convirtiéndose en el faro espiritual de los marineros que buscan su protección antes de enfrentarse a la inmensidad del mar. Esta veneración se refleja en cada rincón de la isla, donde la pesca no es solo un medio de vida, sino también una tradición que se entrelaza con la fe.
My adventure began ascending the steep road to the Coppel hill, where there are some natural viewpoints where you can see the landscape that unfolds like a tapestry before our eyes. And from this high point, the church is revealed in all its splendor, dominating the horizon with its gothic silhouette and I could not fail to show you this beauty.
Mi aventura comenzó ascendiendo por la empinada carretera hacia el cerro Coppel, donde hay unos miradores naturales que se puede ver el paisaje que despliega como un tapiz ante nuestros ojos. Y desde este punto elevado, la iglesia se revela en todo su esplendor, dominando el horizonte con su silueta gótica y no podía dejar de mostrarles esta belleza.
Descending, I came across some highlanders whose lives seem to be blessed with longevity. Whether it is the temperate climate or the secrets of a local diet that gives them such a gift remains to be seen. It is a mystery that still awaits to be deciphered.
Descendiendo, me topé con algunos moradores de la sierra, cuyas vidas parecen estar bendecidas con longevidad. Aún no se sabe si acaso el clima templado o los secretos de una dieta local lo que les otorga tal regalo. Es un misterio que aún aguarda ser descifrado.
Excitement grew within me as I approached the church. Outside, commerce flourishes with kiosks offering sacred images and handicrafts that testify to local skill and artistry.
La emoción crecía dentro de mí al acercarme a la iglesia. En el exterior, el comercio florece con kioscos que ofrecen imágenes sagradas y artesanías que son testimonio de la habilidad y el arte local.
Erected in 1894, the church is a treasure of gothic style. Not that I am very knowledgeable, it was the parish priest himself, who kindly gave me this information and allowed me to capture the images that I now share with you.
The Basilica Menor de Nuestra Señora del Valle stands in a place where spirituality and love converge. Its towers, crowned by a clock that marks the time very well, are a constant reminder for every inhabitant.
Erigida en 1894, la iglesia es un tesoro de estilo gótico. No es que sea yo muy conocedora, fue el propio párroco, quien amablemente me dió esta información y me permitió capturar las imágenes que ahora comparto con ustedes.
La Basílica Menor de Nuestra Señora del Valle se erige en un lugar donde la espiritualidad y el amor convergen. Sus torres, coronadas por un reloj que marca muy bien la hora, son un recordatorio constante para cada habitante.
The exterior design is a contrast: the pure white of the walls, with yellow tones like the sun, highlighting in turn the earthy brown of the tiles, making beautiful patterns on the floor, all around the church, combined with the small palm trees that welcome visitors entering the enclosure.
El diseño exterior es contraste: el blanco puro de las paredes, con tonos amarillo como el sol, resaltando a su vez el marrón terroso de las baldosas, haciendo hermosos dibujos en el suelo, por todo el alrededor de la Iglesia, combinando con las pequeñas palmeras que dan la bienvenida a los visitantes que entran al recinto.
Crossing the large wooden door, one encounters stained glass windows that tell stories of faith in vibrant colors. The plaster ornaments, which embellish the ceiling and columns, are a tribute to craftsmanship and sacred art.
Al cruzar la gran puerta de madera, uno se encuentra con vitrales que narran historias de fe en colores vibrantes. Los adornos de yeso, que embellecen el techo y las columnas, son un homenaje a la artesanía y al arte sacro.
The polished gray marble floor reflects the light that filters through the doors and windows, which are decorated and carved with beautiful crosses, creating an atmosphere of peace and contemplation.
El mármol gris pulido del suelo refleja la luz que se filtra a través de las puertas y ventanas, que están decoradas y talladas con hermosas cruces, creando un ambiente de paz y contemplación.
This visit to the basilica has been an enriching experience, an encounter with beauty and devotion that I hope you enjoyed as much as I did.

Undoubtedly an experience to have visited this place, which from the architectural point of view looks really beautiful. I also think that if we take into account the road it takes to get there, everything as a whole should be very enjoyable with the right company.
For me, this basilica is extraordinarily beautiful for its architecture. It has a great design of which there are not many left in these modern times.
For me visiting it was very pleasant because I did it with the people I love the most in my life.
