Under the Clock

Good vibes hivers of the world.

I haven't seen a dear friend since last year. She is very busy because at 63 years old and for those reasons of destiny, her daughter, the love of her life, left before her. That drastic life change has led her to take care of her grandson, a boy who is slowly entering pre-adolescence.

When she finally confirmed our meeting, the first thing that came to my mind was the building where we coincided as coworkers for more than 5 years. It is an iconic place in Caracas, called Torre la Previsora and is located in the Plaza Venezuela sector.

Immediately, I remembered that there is a new café on the 22nd floor of that building and you can see a good part of the city. Between my desire to talk to her and my desire to see the city from the heights, I proposed her to visit the Café "Bajo el Reloj". By the way it is called that way because just above the café is the clock of the building. I took some pictures of the top of the tower, but obviously the digital clock is not visible.

22 floors up, a gentleman was waiting for us at the entrance of the café, who welcomed us. The door is a glass door with automatic opening, totally lined with black self-adhesive paper and the logo of the café. Once inside, the first thing I noticed was the reception / cash desk and the hostess who kindly invited us to walk around the café before deciding where to sit.

The interior of the café is a really small area, with a floating floor and a heart-shaped decoration in the center. The concrete ceiling reveals the air conditioning ductwork and water pipes for the fire fighting system. A row of lamps provided the necessary illumination. Immediately adjacent were three glass access doors.

The east door opened onto a very small balcony with a wooden floor. At the ends and on the wall there was a plant decoration that I appreciated, because it gave a sense of peace. Despite being open and directly facing the reception area of the café, it gives a feeling of intimacy. The tables and chairs in this area are tall and only for two people. They were adorned with a centerpiece of white roses. I imagine my partner one day inviting me to dine in this place. The view from here is spectacular, overlooking much of the east side of the city and my beloved mountain.

The north and south doors opened onto two long corridors. The chairs and tables were against the wall, to allow the waiters and people to pass through. A long planter adorned the place. There were light bulbs located on the movable roof of aluminum structure and fabric. From these two long corridors you can see, on the south side, part of the university city and on the north side, the place we chose to sit, the mountain. The floor in both corridors is rustic ceramic tile.

The kitchen area is hidden by a door behind the dessert counter, which I had a hard time taking a picture of because of the small space. The innovation and beauty is the view it offers, added to the digital menu that can be seen from the Instagram app, added to the quality of the service and food. It is a place I can go to again. Maybe on my birthday which is coming up.

Thank you for joining me to visit this cafe, if you are in the city of Caracas, I recommend it. You will live a unique experience to see the city from the heights.

Always a huge pleasure to host your amazing content dear @tibaire. Kindly be reminded to reply to all the pending comments in this post. Thank you for your attention! 😀

Thank you for reminding me. I will respond.

Hi @tibaire , 22nd floor, it is very high, hence the beautiful photos you take for the post, what you say catches my attention, the 63-year-old woman takes care of her grandson, life is hard, normally it is the children who bury their parents, not the opposite, it must be hard for your friend and co-worker to get over this.

Hello friend, yes it is very hard what she has to live. However, that's life, there are things that must be faced with the best face.

What a nice reunion and you chose a spectacular place with an amazing view, I loved it. We don't have such tall buildings here. Thanks for sharing this place with us.

Yes, it is a tall building. And the view is spectacular. I worked there for 5 years and never had the opportunity to go up to the 22nd floor.

For someone who loves going to cafes, I would definately want to try this place. The scenic cityscape view at the top will definately give bliss.

Hi, sorry for my late reply, however, here I am. I really appreciate your comment. And indeed it is a place worth visiting for the view it has.

I love the place, plus enjoying the view of the city. Also spending some time with a friend is great. Thanks for always showing us places to visit.😊

Dear Mariela, one day we should arrange to go and enjoy that place. You have a coffee and I have a tea and we are happy to see so much beauty from the heights.

Of course we will.😊

@tibaire What a beautiful reason to meet you in that place that looks so special. I love that your life is filled with good times shared.

Hello bella, yes it was a wonderful meeting in a place that brought back many shared memories.
