Happy start to the week, Shadow Hunters community! Welcome to my entry in the SMASH contest, ronda #405! We're only two days away from Christmas, and I've had a lot to do because of my university and lab activities, so I'm literally running around with my Christmas shopping before the 24th. Among the things I bought were meat and sausages for the barbecue, and of course, I couldn't forget the beer! I bought everything at the biggest shopping mall in downtown Caracas.
We arrived at 11 a.m. and didn't leave until 2 p.m. It wasn't a long time, but it was quite tiring, and we were eager to get back to make lunch. On the way home, I noticed what a beautiful afternoon it was, and luckily, being a Sunday, there were fewer people on the streets than usual. These days, everything is literally jammed with so many people doing their shopping that the traffic tends to become a nightmare, but this wasn't the case. So, taking advantage of the clear sky, I decided to see what shade I could find, and I came across this curious shade in the city center where those delivery guys park their motorcycles close to the sidewalk.

Being a delivery driver has become one of the most sought-after jobs here in Caracas. The sidewalks are packed with motorcycles on weekdays, making traffic impossible after midday. But on a Sunday, there weren't many of them, and that's how I spotted this pair casting shadows that caught my eye. First, there was the shape the motorcycle made with the tank and pedals, and then there was the shape created by the front wheel rims and handlebars. All of this was perfectly projected in a midday shadow in my chaotic city. If anything could be called a chaotic element in my city, it's these iron horses. Zigzagging through the streets, motorcyclists don't respect traffic signals or pedestrians, so seeing them parked on a Sunday, at rest and not causing any chaos, was reason enough to capture the shadows they cast.
Well friends, it was a pleasure to share this urban shadow of Caracas with you. I really enjoy telling the story of my city through shadows, and mopeds are a real topic; they've practically become a social phenomenon in the city. See you in the next Smash contest! Estamos a solo 2 días de navidad y he dejado muchos pendientes debido a mis actividades en la universidad y el laboratorio, así que estoy literalmente corriendo con las compras navideñas antes del 24. Entre las cosas que compre estaban la carne y los chorizos para la parrillada, y por supuesto no podía faltar las cervezas! Todo eso lo compre en el centro comercial del centro de Caracas que es el más grande.
Llegamos a las 11 de la mañana y terminamos saliendo a las 2 de la tarde, no fue mucho tiempo pero fue bastante agotador y ya queríamos volver para preparar el almuerzo. En el camino a casa me di cuenta de la tarde tan radiante que estábamos teniendo y por suerte para ese día domingo había menos gente en la calle que de costumbre, en estos días literalmente todo se congestiona con tantas personas haciendo sus compras que el tráfico tiende a volverse infernal, pero este no fue el caso. Entonces, aprovechando que el cielo estaba despejado decidí ver que sombra me encontraba y encontré esta curiosa sombra del centro de la ciudad donde dejan aparcadas cerca de la acera las motos aquellos repartidores de encargos.

Ser repartidor se ha convertido en uno de los trabajos más buscados aquí en Caracas, las aceras los días de semana están repletas de motocicletas, haciendo que el tráfico sea imposible a las horas posteriores al mediodía, pero siendo domingo no habían muchas de ellas y fue así como conseguí este par generando unas sombras que me llamaron la atención, primero por la forma que generaban el motos junto al tanque y los pedales, y luego estaba la forma que generaba los rines de las ruedas delanteras y el manubrio. Todo ello perfectamente proyectado en una sombra al mediodía de mi desordenada ciudad, si algo podría llamar un agente caotrópico en mi ciudad son estos caballos de hierro, zigzagueando entre las calles los motorizados no respetan señales de tráfico ni peatones por lo que verlas un domingo estacionadas, en estado de reposo sin generar caos fue razón suficiente para capturar las sombras que producían.
Bien amigos fue un gusto para mi compartir esta sombra urbana de Caracas con ustedes, disfruto mucho relatar la historia de mi ciudad a través de las sombras y las motocicletas son un verdadero tema, prácticamente se han convertido en un sujeto social de la ciudad.
