Since I live on an small Island it is a short distance to the many beautiful red sand beaches. The following two photos are reflections in the water from the sunset at Stewart’s Point with the view across the Northumberland Strait, PEI.
The sun sinks lower in the sky. Hubby and I often take a walk on the beach in the warm summer evenings. I don’t have the kind of skin that takes kindly to the hot sun on an afternoon but an evening walk is wonderful.
More water reflections from another location on the Island. These photos are taken in different seasons. This is a view of the sun setting I saw from the TransCanada highway on the way into Charlottetown.
Reflections in winter on frozen ground.
Sunset reflections on a snow-covered field. The photo was taken while I was driving in the countryside.
Shadows
Many wildlife visit my backyard. This is Rocky the raccoon and his shadow stopping by.
A silver fox runs, through the tree shadows, for the forest when I opened the back door.
A dove, casting a shadow, and a Junco enjoying eating the bird seeds I put out for them.

These are beautiful, Jo! PEI is so crisp and clear almost any day I have seen it. The sun up there is a little bit on the sneaky side. The weather, so glorious, it lulls me into believing it is not as damaging to my skin.

I do better walking in the evening, after it has lowered its ambitions.

Sunsets or sunrises at the beach - I love them 😀
I'm not keen on the hot sun during the day either, but the golden light in the mornings and in the evenings is something I can't get enough of.
I have seen quite a few foxes when I was driving around in the past days - your silver fox looks very cute. I remember Rocky the raccoon from older posts. I wonder if he's really dead or if he has just moved to another place.
We are having rainy and stormy days, but I hope your Sunday is sunny as it should be, dear Jo 🤗🌞

Hi Hannes. I was surprised to see the silver fox as mostly the red foxes are around. I haven’t seen Rocky for a week but he may be coming around after dark or out romancing. I leave food out for him and it is gone in the morning but who knows what critter eats it. :)
It was forecast rain today but sun is out so maybe a pleasant day after all.☀️

Hannes, perhaps you were thinking of Peppy the friendly skunk. He was adorable but hasn’t been seen for a long, long time, I think he was killed by a vehicle as I saw a dead skink on the highway not far from the house after he didn’t show up for days.
It did rain hard later in the afternoon but tomorrow forecast to be nice. 🌧

oh yes, I meant Peppy, how could I forget that name - we have been talking so much about this little guy. Now I also remember that you said you had seen a dead skunk on the road.
I don't think we will see the sun today, but it might stay dry after a rainy night. The next days are going to be wet again, but then I can only see sunshine on the weather maps ... we'll see 😉

Yes the dove was suspicious as he/she had a standoff with one of the blue Jays earlier. The dove may look gentle but it doesn’t take any bullying from the other birds.
