La estampita de la niña Lucía

It all began when Lucia, a 6-year-old girl, found, on her way to school, a holy card of what was presumed to be a virgin. Although her nanny, who took her to class every morning, told her not to take it, Lucía quickly bent down, picked up the piece of paper and put it in her backpack full of notebooks.
No fue en clases de matemáticas ni en la hora de literatura, sino en el recreo cuando Lucía sacó la estampita que había encontrado y se la enseñó a todos sus amiguitos. Allí, en mitad del bullicio infantil, soñaron que podía ser una estampita mágica, que hacía milagros, por lo que Lucía, sin pensarlo mucho, tomó el pedazo de papel en sus manitas y pidió con todas su fuerzas: "Ojalá no tengamos clases". No habían pasado unos minutos, cuando sonó el timbre y la directora notificó que las clases estaban suspendidas hasta nuevo aviso.
It was not in math class or literature class, but at recess when Lucia took out the stamp she had found and showed it to all her friends. There, in the middle of the children's hustle and bustle, they dreamed that it could be a magic stamp, that it worked miracles, so Lucia, without thinking too much, took the piece of paper in her little hands and asked with all her strength: "I hope we don't have classes". Not a few minutes had passed when the bell rang and the principal announced that classes were suspended until further notice.
Por comentarios de los otros niños, los adultos supieron lo que había pasado en el recreo. Al principio tuvieron sus dudas y reservas, pero fue una petición de doña Lucrecia, la cual se hizo realidad, lo que hizo trascender la fama de aquella estampita. Entonces vinieron de todas partes a pedir y Lucía, con la estampita en sus manos, oraba y pasados unos días, el milagro pedido se hacía realidad.
From the comments of the other children, the adults learned what had happened at recess. At first they had their doubts and reservations, but it was a request from Doña Lucrecia, which came true, that made the fame of that holy card transcend. Then they came from everywhere to ask and Lucia, with the holy card in her hands, prayed and after a few days, the requested miracle came true.
No hubo milagro que no se pidiera y que luego de unos días, para alegría de todos, no se concediera: "¿Viste que Doña Hortencia está curada, que Patricio por fin encontró trabajo y que Isabelita, a sus 40 años, por fin es madre?, comentaban con verdadero entusiasmo los lugareños. Pero un día Lucía buscó su estampita por todas partes y no la consiguió, y aunque fueron mares de llanto y acusaciones, la estampita jamás apareció. Algunos dicen que se la robaron, otros dicen que la perdió, pero hay algunos que comentan que la virgencita siguió su cadenas de milagros en otra parte, porque ya allí había hecho suficientes favores.
There was no miracle that was not asked for and that after a few days, to everyone's joy, was not granted: "Did you see that Doña Hortencia is cured, that Patricio finally found a job and that Isabelita, at 40 years old, is finally a mother," commented the locals with true enthusiasm. But one day Lucía looked for her holy card everywhere and could not find it, and although there were seas of crying and accusations, the holy card never appeared. Some say it was stolen, others say she lost it, but there are some who say that the little virgin continued her chain of miracles elsewhere, because she had already done enough favors there.

Bonita historia, pienso lo mismo, que la ola de milagros se marchó para otra parte.
