No, I'm not talking about the odds of Hive finally getting some attention again.
But today I'm excited, cause after many months since the trailer I finally get to go watch the Project Hail Mary movie in the cinemas.

It's been one of the few books I've read/listened to in the past few years and am looking forward to see how they did the movie adaptation.
Ryan Gosling = can't complain. The thing with wanting "new actors" that won't taint the movie with their past roles is that it's quite hit and miss, they need to be someone you can like or at least not dislike. I'm usually a fan of those more because they stick to the character, but some times that may not be great for their careers - cue Daniel Radcliffe/Elijah Wood. I think A knight of the seven kingdoms did it well recently by introducing a fresh new actor to the world but I guess it needs to be something substaintial to gamble on it, something with legs that can last for many seasons in a franchise, etc. So for a simple movie adaptation of a book it's understandable that they're going with someone familiar like Ryan.
Spoiler warning below
I'm excited to see how fun they've made the alien in the movie.
I noticed it was 2.5h long so I'm kind of happy about that over the usual 1.5h movie lengths, I think time will go fast anyway.
Anyway, just a quick shitpost about my daily life I suppose, which you'll probably hear more about from now on than the usual views on hive/other things not related to myself as I usually don't have much to say about my unique yet kind of boring life.
Sharing this in the Hive book club community, maybe not completely relevant but maybe it won't hurt driving some more attention their way!
I'll forfeit part of the rewards of this post as I don't have much more to say, toodaloo.
Are u gonna watch it? Have you read it?
Ooh! Thanks for posting here 😄 and still relevant btw cause people here like to do those movie vs book review too. I personally haven't read the book but that's a good recommendation for a movie night, I know someone who likes this type of stuff along with Ryan gosling. The last time I watched his movie was Blade Runner 2049! Which somehow gives me similar vibe to this one.
Think this one will be a lot more comedy than that one :D but a lot of sci-fi as well! Definitely worth a read/listen, maybe prior to watching the movie but maybe not right after as it usually is with that. :P
Wow, that's great! A little time to think about going to the movies is amazing. Life isn't just work, it's also a bit of pleasure. Reading a book and then watching the movie... I've only seen that in a cheesy group of girls, now women, who went happily to the movies to see the literary adaptation of Little Women. I was filled with so much envy that I went to see the boring movie of Little Women and now I hope to read the book.
Same with the ton of books like Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit... Ufffffff, I'm already behind on that. Maybe I won't have enough life to get through it all, I'm so short on time and there's a million other things to do.
Well, enjoy it.
Thanks just watched it, was really good.
I don't go to the movies often, last time was for the new Superman so this was definitely worth it!
I've had to go to check the plot on Wikipedia as I never heard of this movie 😄 but I'm out of the loop with movies now anyways
I also don't mind when there's less mainstream actors
You shoulda done a complete review, could have shared on reddit 😜
Sure but I've never really done reviews so not sure how to go about it, would be way too amateurish for a reddit share I'm sure. :P
Dam 2.5 hours! Idk if I will watch it if it is that long. I have not read the book.
I like Ryan Gosling though so I may reconsider watching it. Probably not a good movie for popcorn at 2.5 hours though. I will end up going through 2+ bags of popcorn if I am not careful. 😆
lol yea may have to bring lunch with me
Consider that the average of a movie is 2 hours nowadays...
Yes but you must also consider that my attention span is somewhere between 20 min and oh look a squirrel!! 😉
Haha well you can watch an anime episode 😄

Sad news dear, i hope it doesn't not happens with splinterland, remember i told you about it in the past.
I don't usually support projects just closing everything down, I can't imagine it costs too much to keep servers running and letting people play with their nft assets. Although by the sound of that message they may never have been nfts to begin with. Oh well. Not sure how I feel about all that.
Me too, when this proyect start GLS i spend $500 buy it was ok, i enjoy openning the pack, but i can not imagi e how peopme who invest more than $5000.00 could feel right now.
But well the proyects coming and gone.
We should enjoy our blog.
Even though we're not ready to launch our game yet, I've made precautions that I can handle upkeep even if all support/funding were to disappear from the project.
Amazing dexitions, i guess maybe in the others, they spend a lot of money in MLS contracts.
As far as fiction is concerned, I read sci-fi almost exclusively. I liked Project Hail Mary and would definitely recommend it as a book you could enjoy even if you're not a big sci-fi fan, it's certainly more accessible than many titles in the genre.
Ryan Gosling isn't quite how I imagined the lead character but I'll definitely be watching the movie - just need to find the time!
Starts tomorrow here tooo... Still unknown if I can get to watch it tomorrow (most likely not). Maybe I will pick up the big boys and go have some boys' time over the weekend.
I am not a book reader person (and I am a slow reader... kind of need to feel all the details and can't do like my wife that reads books like I drink coffee), but I usually devour the film (especially SciFi) industry (when I can).
It's my favorite author and I looooved the book, very excited too ! Did you read artemis ?
Hadn't! Just googled it, it's what the martian was based on?
Movie was okay but a bit too close to interstellar so wasn't a fan of Matt Damon starring in it again, lol. Maybe worth reading it after all this time since I've watched the movie?
No the martian is its own book. Artemis is his second book which didn't get a movie adaptation and hail mary is the third !
ooh okay, may read/listen to both then! Starting with martian?
Both are unrelated so you could do in any order :) If you've already watched the martian you might as well discover a new one.
I'm reading red rising these days, it's a masterpiece I recommend too
Cool! Heard about that one as I was searching for some sci-fi's, currently listening to rendezvous with rama.
I want to see the movie. I like Ryan Gosling as a actor.
Was the book any good? I think its from the same author as The Martian
honestly better than expected, definitely worth it for once :D
Okay maybe i'll give it a go then. Always best to read the book before seeing the movie, opposed to visa versa.
I have been challenged of late to up my game when it comes to reading. I used to read a lot in my younger days, but then technology kind of took its place in my life. A two-hour movie looks good, though!😜
There seems to be a lot of talk regarding this series on Hive. I definitely need to check it out.
Yes, I am planning to watch it soon. We listened to the audiobook a few years ago, it's one of our favorite science fiction books!
You definitely should!
I can imagine the excitement of finally seeing a movie you've read about. I would too, especially if the book was interesting. I'm guessing this one would.
Yes definitely worth a read if you like sci-fi and humor!
Sci-fi and humor combined... That's a banger. 😂
As this movie is obviously in my watching list and maybe after completing The Witcher, i know the movie came after the book that's why caught my attention too. Well I can watch 2.5h long movie too especially when I've interest

one of the best science fiction novels read in recent years, I can't wait to go to the cinema, I hope they've done a good adaptation
100%!
It's on my list to read, so I am going to skip over most of this post, but I will still give it an upvote because I am excited about the premise of it.
Haven't read it and won't watch it until I do. Maybe...
But Daniel Radcliff and Ryan. *nods
It is always a treat when a book I love gets adapted into a movie ;)
Also loved the book and looking forward to the film.
That will be exciting to see that you have decided to spare sometime out to go watch a movie.
for the movies fans

With this soo much excitement I read in your write up and since it is a sci fic, I must watch that movie. I have actually not read the book. Apart from Harry potter I don't think I have actually read a book that was later turned into a movie.
