I've recently read this book too! It's interesting that you see the things through the eyes of death.
It's also one of the few books that tell a story about World War 2 (at least that I have read) from the viewpoint of the Germans people. It shows that not all of them were bad and a lot of them were struggling with the war too.

I really like that perspective too. Seeing the story through Death’s narration makes everything feel more reflective and definitely weird but in a good way. And I agree with you about the portrayal of German civilians. It adds a lot of depth to the story because it shows how ordinary people were also caught up in the consequences of the war. I was born in 2000, I have read so many books about the world war but this is one book that helps understand the complexity of that time better.
It’s a powerful read, Thanks for stopping by and for your comment. Have a good day!
