Throughout these last months I have been publishing in this Community some reviews of books that I have read, some recently and others, on the other hand, for quite some time, but of which I still have a very clear memory of their plot and their characters .
I just discovered this initiative by @nicxi that I found very interesting since it goes beyond the simple review or literary opinion on a text.
It emphasizes common aspects that identify us when reading a book. And I'm going to try to enrich it (I don't know if it's the right word, I don't want to be modest or immodest) by adding to each of the five suggested topics a book that I have read that is perfectly adapted to that situation.
By the way, I want to invite my friends @hubeyma, @ marisa0949, @ elethedog629, @argenvista and @ sketchpoison777 to actively participate in this initiative.
A lo largo de estos últimos meses he estado publicando en esta Comunidad algunas reseñas de libros que he leído, algunos recientemente y otros, en cambio, hace ya bastante tiempo, pero de los cuáles conservo aún un recuerdo muy nítido de su trama y sus personajes.
Acabo de descubrir esta iniciativa de @nicxi que me ha parecido muy interesante ya que va mas llá de la simple reseña u opinión literaria sobre un texto.
Hace hincapié en aspectos comunes que nos identifican al leer un libro. Y voy a tratar de enriquecerla (no se si es la palabra justa, no quiero pecar de modesto ni inmodesto) agregando a cada uno de los cinco tópicos sugeridos un libro de los que he leído y que se adapta perfectamente a esa situación.
De paso quiero invitar a mis amigos @hubeyma, @marisa0949, @elethedog629, @argenvista y @sketchpoison777 a participar activamente en esta iniciativa.
1.- What is the first book you remember reading as a child? / ¿Cuál es primer libro que recuerdas haber leído de niño?
I remember that in my childhood reading I read a lot the books in the Robin Hood collection. They were yellow hardcover books and I remember Emilio Salgari's books dedicated for example to Sandokan e, Tigre de la Malaysia and others.
Irony of life when several years ago I transferred to live in Europe (specifically in Italy) I ended up living in an area of Italy, Liguria, in the city of Savona, very close to Imperia, which had been Salgari's hometown. .
From the same collection I remember the Adventures of Tom Swayer by Mark Twain
Recuerdo que en mi lectura de la infancia leía mucho los libros de la colección Robin Hood. Eran unos libros de tapas duras, amarillas y recuerdo los libros de Emilio Salgari dedicados por ejemplo a Sandokan e, Tigre de la Malasia y otros.

2.- What is the best time to read? / ¿Cuál es el mejor momento para leer?
Personally, I prefer the evening since I hardly watch television. I have a pretty bad relationship with her and therefore when I decide to inform myself I do it through the web.
That gives me a lot of time at night to read, especially when the book deserves a certain fear and concentration.
For example, Los Fronterizos, a wonderful book by Peter Hoeg is to be read at night, with the tranquility and serenity that the night hours give.
It is a great book which I reviewed in this post but it requires concentration and patience. And the night is ideal for it.
Personalmente prefiero la noche ya que prácticamente no miro la televisión. Tengo una relación bastante mala con ella y por lo tanto cuando decido de informarme lo hago a través de la web.
Eso me da mucho tiempo nocturno parac leer, especialmente cuando el libro merece una cierta atemción y concentración.
Por ejemplo Los Fronterizos un libro estupendo de Peter Hoeg es para leerlo de noche, con la tranquilidad y la serenidad que las horas nocturnas dan.
Es un estupendo libro del cuál hice la reseña en este post pero requiere concentración y paciencia. Y la noche es ideal para ello.
3.- In what format do you prefer to read: digital, paper or both? ¿En qué formato prefieres leer: digital, papel o ambos?
They are an old-fashioned reader and for that reason reading a book on paper, preferably with hard covers and a good marker to indicate where I left off, are fundamental aspects for me.
I totally agree that with ebooks we can have our own library with hundreds or thousands of volumes, given their low cost. Without taking into account that many times we can download them through various P2P platforms totally free (I leave to each user the consideration they have of copyright ownership and the fact that many of these platforms can easily bypass them).
But the feeling of the paper in my hands is still fundamental for me. I can take the book where I want and read it where I want.
I have tried to read an ebook using the notebook and although it is an alternative it is not entirely comfortable.
The first readers of books were the famous Kinder. Later, ebboks became popular with tablets that continue to be, to this day, I think the most suitable instruments for reading a book.
Reading this book was one of my first experiences with ebooks and tablets:
Son un lector a la antigua y por ese motivo la lectura de un libro en papel, preferentemente con tapas duras y buen marcador para señalar donde dejé la lectura, son aspectos para mi fundamentales.
Estoy totalmente de acuerdo que con los ebooks podemos tener una biblioteca propia con centenares o miles de volúmenes, dado su bajo costo. Sin tener en cuenta que muchas veces los podemos descargar a través de variadas plataformas P2P en forma totalmente gratis (dejo a cada usuario la consideración que tiene de la propiedad de derechos de autor y el hecho que muchas de estas plataformas los pueden saltear fácilmente).
Pero la sensación del papel entre las manos para mi sigue siendo algo fundamental. Puedo llevar el libro donde quiero y leerlo donde quiero.
He probado a leer algún ebook usando el notebook y si bien es una alternativa no es del todo cómoda.
Los primeros lectores de libros fueron los famosos Kinder. Después los ebboks se popularizaron con las tablets que siguen siendo, al dia de hoy, creo que los instrumentos más idóneos para leer un libro.

4.-What distracts you the most when you read? / ¿Qué te distrae más cuando lees?
When I read I can't do anything else. I have to concentrate on reading. Maybe it's bipolar disorder. Or a concentration problem. But any rumor bothers me.
For example, I cannot read with the radio or television on, even if it is at low volume. And much less read and occasionally strike up a conversation.
On the other hand, it does not cause me any discomfort to read a book outdoors with the noises of nature around me.
Cuando leo no puedo hacer otra cosa. Me tengo que concentrar en la lectura. Tal vez sea un disturbo bipolar. O un problema de concentración. Pero cualquier rumor me molesta.
Por ejemplo no puedo leer con la radio o el televisor encendidos, aunque sea a bajo volumen. Y mucho menos leer y de vez en cuando entablar una conversación.
En cambio no me causa ninguna molestia leer un libro al aire libre con los ruidos de la naturaleza a mi alrededor.
5.- Favorite genre? / ¿Género favorito?
My favorite literary genre has evolved over the years. When I was younger and my ideals were more radical (in the sense of revolutionaries), even though I was quite young, I preferred to read books on Latin American socio-political issues.
I remember that for several years I considered the book Bases and starting points for the political organization of the Argentine Republic as one of the best from my point of view. He was in his early twenties. Comparable to The Open Veins of Latin America "by Eduardo Galeano. Or" War and Peace "by Leon Tolstoi.
Over the years I was inclined to read the so-called "legal thriller" in which John Crisham has been one of its first teachers. And in a line later followed by Jeffery Deaver, Greg Iles and others.
To pass in recent years to the reading of the Scandinavian thriller by the hand of Henning Mankell and Stieg Larsson authors of the series or sagas dedicated to the curator Kurt Wallander or Millenium respectively, and of which I have made the odd review.
Anyway, I think this initiative is very beautiful because apart from reminding us that we can be good readers, it helps us to improve ourselves as such.
And that is already a goal that, in these modern times of social networks, TV, massive use of cell phones and other media, is quite ambitious.
Mi género literario preferido ha ido evolucionando con los años. Cuando era más joven y mis ideales más radicales (en el sentido de revolucionarios) prefería leer aún siendo bastante joven libros referidos a temáticas socio-políticas latinoamericanas.
Recuerdo que por varios años consideré el libro Bases y puntos de partida para la organización política de la República Argentina como uno de los mejores desde mi punto de vista. Tenía alrededor de veinte años. Comparable a Las Venas Abiertas de América Latina" de Eduardo Galeano. O "La Guerra y la Paz" de Leon Tolstoi.
Con el pasar de los años me fui inclinando por la lectura del llamado "legal thriller" en el cual John Crisham ha sido uno de sus primeros maestros. Y en una linea que luego han seguido Jeffery Deaver, Greg Iles y otros.
Para pasar en los últimos años a la lectura del thriller escandinavo de la mano de Henning Mankell y Stieg Larsson autores de las series o sagas dedicadas al comisario Kurt Wallander o a Millenium respectivamente, y de las cuáles he hecho alguna que otra reseña.
En fin, creo que esta iniciativa es muy hermosa porque aparte de recordarnos que podemos ser buenos lectores, nos ayuda a mejorarnos como tales.
Y esa es ya una meta que, en estos tiempos modernos de redes sociales, TV, uso masivo del celular y otros medios, resulta bastante ambiciosa.
