El hábito de la lectura surgió en mí desde una edad muy temprana gracias a una anécdota bastante graciosa que incluye a mi padre y a un obsequio de Navidad, pero esto ya lo he contado en publicaciones anteriores, así que no los aburriré de nuevo con la misma historia. Lo cierto es que desde ese momento me convertí en una ávida de la lectora y fanática número uno de las grandes bibliotecas. Los libros para mí son como una fábrica de sueños porque cuando lees simplemente se abren las puertas hacia mundos completamente nuevos e interesantes, simplemente te transportas hacia otros lugares con sólo emplear tu imaginación.
Hace unos días me encontré con esta publicación interesante de @nicxi en donde nos planteaba cinco preguntas interesantes sobre la lectura, así que realmente me pareció una buena idea de unirme a esta iniciativa.

The habit of reading arose in me from a very early age thanks to a rather funny anecdote involving my father and a Christmas present, but I have already told this in previous posts, so I won't bore you again with the same story. Books for me are like a dream factory because when you read you simply open the doors to completely new and interesting worlds, you are simply transported to other places just by using your imagination.

El primer libro que recuerdo haber leído fue El Perro Nevado de Tulio Febres Cordero, yo tenía unos 7 años más o menos. Recuerdo que para ese entonces cada vez que regresaba del colegio leía unas cuantas páginas y cuando mi padre regresaba de trabajar, ambos nos sentábamos en el sofá de la sala y, en seguida, yo comenzaba mi narración sobre lo que había leído ese día.
Luego me aventuré con el Principito, aunque para ser sincera creo que estaba muy joven como para entender el significado de ese libro y eso fue algo de lo que me di cuenta a medida que fui madurando y leí este libro un par de veces más.
The first book I remember reading was El Perro Nevado by Tulio Febres Cordero, I was about 7 years old more or less. I remember that by then every time I came home from school I would read a few pages and when my father came home from work, we would both sit on the living room sofa and I would immediately begin my narration of what I had read that day.
Then I ventured into the Principito, although to be honest I think I was too young to understand the meaning of that book and that was something I realized as I matured and read this book a few more times.

My favorite time to read is early in the morning, as soon as the day starts. First, because I can enjoy reading with a cup of freshly brewed coffee and, second, because during this time of the day I am much more mentally rested and I tend to stay focused much longer.
Although I also like to read a bit before I go to sleep, I feel that this relaxes me a bit and it's a bit funny because sometimes I have dreamed about what I read. But, reading at this hour you run the risk of ending up going to sleep quite late. I've always been one of those people who say, "I'll read just one more chapter", but I end up reading more than one and falling asleep at almost 4 a.m.
Los libros en formato digital tienen bastante ventajas pero no suelen despertar en mí esa misma emoción que sí logra un libro en físico. Siempre voy a preferir un libro en físico más que todo por un aspecto emocional pues realmente disfruto poder palparlo y rozar cada página con mis manos. Además de que, evidentemente, los libros conforman una biblioteca y no hay sensación tan mágica que recorrer estantes repletos de libros, tomar un libro y otro, ojearlos...sin duda esto es algo mucho más emocionante que simplemente buscar un libro en un catálogo de archivos digitales.
Además, un libro en físico nunca se quedará sin batería o dejará de funcionar por algún motivo extraño, ellos siempre nos acompañarán y envejecerán también junto con nosotros.
Digital books have many advantages but they don't usually awaken in me the same emotion that a physical book does. I will always prefer a physical book more than anything else for an emotional aspect because I really enjoy being able to feel it and touch each page with my hands. Besides, obviously, books make up a library and there is no more magical feeling than going through shelves full of books, picking up one book after another, browsing through them...this is certainly something much more exciting than simply looking for a book in a catalog of digital files.
Besides, a physical book will never run out of battery or stop working for some strange reason, they will always accompany us and will also grow old along with us.

I would say that everything, seriously, I am a person who finds it hard to concentrate and keep focused. Ficción es el género que más disfruto leer. Uno de mis libros favoritos de este género es Doce Cuentos Peregrinos de Gabriel García Márquez, aunque en realidad este es un compendio de cuentos. La Fantasía es un género que también me encanta, como el clásico Alicia en el País de las Maravillas que cabe destacar lo he leído como un millón de veces pues la verdad es que es uno de mis libros favoritos.
Fiction is the genre I enjoy reading the most. One of my favorite books in this genre is Doce Cuentos Peregrinos by Gabriel García Márquez, although this is actually a compendium of short stories. Fantasy is a genre that I also love, like the classic Alicia in Wonderland which I have read about a million times because it is one of my favorite books.
