Compartir reseñas sobre mis libros favoritos es algo que me gusta y realmente no sé porqué no me había animado a realizar este tipo de publicaciones con más frecuencia. Lo cierto es que hace poco mi querida @nathyortiz me invitó a participar en su Reto de Lectura de 7 Días, así que esta me pareció una excelente oportunidad para compartir un poco más de sobre este tema que encanta tanto: la lectura.
El tema del primer día de este reto corresponde a un clásico de la literatura. Cuando nos referimos a un "clásico" en el mundo de la literatura estamos hablando sobre aquellos libros valiosos, que nunca pasan de moda y que perduran a través del tiempo impactando a generaciones de lectores. Shakespeare, Cervantes, Oscar Wilde son ejemplos de algunos autores de obras que han logrado trascender en el tiempo.
Entonces, en esta publicación, les compartiré cuál ese mis libro clásico favorito...aunque bueno, de verdad que tengo varios, pero este que comparto aquí se encuentra dentro de mi género literario favorito y fue básicamente por eso que no se me hizo tan difícil escoger un libro sobre el cual pudiese escribir hoy.
Sharing reviews of my favorite books is something I like and I really don't know why I hadn't encouraged myself to make this kind of posts more often. The truth is that recently my dear @nathyortiz invited me to participate in her 7 Day Reading Challenge, so this seemed like an excellent opportunity to share a little more about this topic that I love so much: reading.
The theme of the first day of this challenge corresponds to a classic of literature. When we refer to a "classic" in the world of literature we are talking about those valuable books that never go out of fashion and that last through time impacting generations of readers. Shakespeare, Cervantes, Oscar Wilde are examples of some authors of works that have managed to transcend in time.
So, in this post, I will share with you which is my favorite classic book...although, well, I really have several, but this one I share here is within my favorite literary genre and that is basically why it was not so difficult for me to choose a book I could write about today.

Al hablar del género del terror es imposible que, a muchos de nosotros, no se nos venga a la mente Drácula de Bram Stoker, pues esta novela logró convertirse en una obra de referencia que, a pesar de haber sido imitada en infinidad de ocasiones, hasta el momento no ha logrado ser superada.
Recuerdo que durante una época me obsesioné con leer solamente grandes clásicos de la literatura, pues consideraba que ya tenía la madurez mental como para comprender algunas de estas obras y así dar un nuevo paso en mi experiencia como lectora. Fue mi padre quien me regaló este libro y de hecho esta edición que él consiguió se encuentra ilustrada, algo que me agradó bastante porque le daba al libro una apariencia mucho más interesante.
Esta obra de Bram Stoker es bastante fácil de leer y de "digerir", todo lo que se está narrando va directo al grano. Algo que realmente me gusta de esta novela es que está redactada siguiendo una estructura epistolar, es decir, se compone de una serie de cartas escritas por los propios protagonistas, notas de sus diarios personales y recortes de prensa, esto le aporta cierta verosimilitud a pesar de que sabemos que todo lo que se está narrando es completamente ficticio.
When talking about the horror genre, it is impossible for many of us not to think of Bram Stoker's Dracula, since this novel managed to become a reference work that, despite having been imitated countless times, has not been surpassed so far.
I remember that for a time I was obsessed with reading only great classics of literature, because I considered that I was mentally mature enough to understand some of these works and thus take a new step in my experience as a reader. It was my father who gave me this book and in fact this edition that he got is illustrated, something that pleased me a lot because it gave the book a much more interesting appearance.
This work by Bram Stoker is quite easy to read and "digest", everything that is being narrated is straight to the point. Something I really like about this novel is that it is written following an epistolary structure, that is, it is composed of a series of letters written by the protagonists themselves, notes from their personal diaries and newspaper clippings, this gives it a certain verisimilitude even though we know that everything that is being narrated is completely fictitious.
La obra va cambiando constantemente de narrador y esto hace que la lectura sea bastante dinámica pues básicamente estás obteniendo los diferentes puntos de vista de cada uno de los protagonistas. Cada narrador te cuenta lo que sucede y todo lo que les pasa por la cabeza ante cada situación...esto hace que la obra sea mucho más interesante.
Algo que me pareció curioso desde el primer momento en que comencé a leer esta novela, es que siempre se está hablando de Drácula o sobre aquellos elementos sobrenaturales que tú sabes que es el quien los provoca. Sin embargo, a pesar de que este ser sobrenatural es el protagonista principal, nunca tiene voz propia dentro de la narración por lo que nunca conocemos su punto de vista, sólo lo conocemos a través de las suposiciones que los otros personajes realizan tras cada uno de sus movimientos.
A pesar de que la trama es interesante y te manteniente siempre a la expectativa de lo que podrá ocurrir, en pocas ocasiones puede volverse algo lenta e incluso hay algunas partes que parecieran estar demás pues no aportan mucho a la narrativa. En cuanto a los personajes el que menos me agradó fue Lucy, pero lo cierto es que un personaje clave porque a partir de ella se desarrollarán acontecimientos importantes en la obra.
The work is constantly changing narrators and this makes the reading quite dynamic because you are basically getting the different points of view of each of the protagonists. Each narrator tells you what happens and everything that goes through their heads in each situation...this makes the book much more interesting.
Something that I found curious from the first moment I started reading this novel, is that it is always talking about Dracula or about those supernatural elements that you know he is the one who causes them. However, despite the fact that this supernatural being is the main protagonist, he never has his own voice within the narrative so we never know his point of view, we only know him through the assumptions that the other characters make after each of his movements.
Although the plot is interesting and keeps you always waiting for what will happen, in a few occasions it can become a little slow and there are even some parts that seem to be superfluous because they do not contribute much to the narrative. As for the characters, the one I liked the least was Lucy, but the truth is that she is a key character because important events in the work will develop from her.
En mi opinión, el personaje de Drácula es sumamente PODEROSO. Es uno de esos villanos que se merecen por completo ese papel...él es inteligente, sabe como jugar con las emociones y la fragilidad de sus oponentes, tiene la capacidad de engañar. Él es difícil de sorprender, porque siempre va un paso delante de los demás. Drácula, sin lugar a dudas, es uno de esos personajes que te deja una profunda huella.
In my opinion, the character of Dracula is extremely POWERFUL. He is one of those villains who fully deserves that role...he is smart, he knows how to play with the emotions and fragility of his opponents, he has the ability to deceive. He is difficult to surprise, because he is always one step ahead of the others. Dracula, without a doubt, is one of those characters that leaves a deep impression on you.

Ese libro lo lei hace como 3 años, y aunque es cierto que el personaje principal no tiene voz en la historia, no me llamo mucho la atencion. No porque no diera terror o suspenso, sino que repetia mucho las escenas y no iba al punto.
Yo entiendo que esta escrito en otra epoca, pero no soporte esa parte. Sin embargo, si comparto tu opinion que el personaje de Dracula es sumamente escurridizo y poderoso, se hace dificil darle caza.
Me gusto tanto tu post por la manera que enfocaste esos aspectos positivos que yo debi dejar pasar por impaciente. Puede que le de una segunda oportunidad.
No estaría mal que le dieras una segunda oportunidad, a veces lo que necesitan algunos libros es precisamente eso: tiempo, porque quizás los leemos en una etapa en la que no estamos completamente preparados para ellos.

No sabía para nada que la estructura narrativa de esa novela fuera tan dinámica, me hace querer leerla ya en lugar de seguir postergándolo. En su momento no tuve oportunidad de leerla porque (menos mal que no me pueden ver la cara) de adolescente nunca me permitieron comprar el libro "porque era mala influencia, era un libro adulto" 🤣 🤣 🤣 SOCORRO.
