Oscuros (saga oscuros) es un libro que leí hace algunos años y de vez en cuando lo vuelvo a leer porque disfruto bastante de su historia. Fue escrito por Lauren Kate y es la primera parte de una saga compuesta por cinco libros, una historia aparte y algunos escritos cortos. Está dentro de los géneros romance-fantasía y el tema principal son los ángeles caídos.
Recuerdo que este libro fue muy popular en su momento porque cuando salió estaba en pleno apogeo la literatura fantástica adolescente, sobre todo el tema de los ángeles caídos. Se estrenaron muchos libros juveniles que trataban sobre romances entre humanos y estos seres angelicales que por diversas razones fueron expulsados del cielo o simplemente decidieron irse (Nefilim, Hush Hush, El designio del ángel, entre otros).
La historia me pareció muy buena en aquellos tiempos, cumple con las expectativas, así que hoy quise hablar un poco sobre ella.
Fallen (Fallen saga) is a book I read some years ago and from time to time I read it again because I enjoy its story quite a lot. It was written by Lauren Kate and it is the first part of a saga composed by five books, a separate story and some short writings. It falls into the romance-fantasy genre and the main theme is fallen angels.
I remember that this book was very popular at the time because when it came out teen fantasy literature was in its prime, especially the theme of fallen angels. Many juvenile books were released that were about romances between humans and these angelic beings that for various reasons were kicked out of heaven or simply decided to leave (Nephilim, Hush Hush, The Angel's Design, among others).
I thought the story was very good back in the day, it lives up to expectations, so today I wanted to talk a little about it.
"La historia de Daniel y Luce, dos almas predestinadas a encontrarse y condenadas a perderse...."
Tenemos de protagonista a una jovencita taciturna llamada Lucinda (Luce), la cual desde pequeña no la ha tenido nada fácil, pues ve apariciones oscuras (sombras) que la atormentan. Debido a eso ha ido a psicólogos y ha sido incluso medicada. Todo se complica aún más cuando a sus diecisiete años es acusada de haber asesinado a su novio (nada que ver, Luce es una buena muchacha) y en consecuencia es enviada a un reformatorio.
En el reformatorio conocerá a Daniel, un chico con el que sentirá una atracción inexplicable, también conocerá a Penn quien se convertirá en su mejor amiga y a Cam, un individuo muy misterioso con intenciones dudosas, el cual intentara siempre llamar la atención de Luce.
Este libro a pesar de ser una historia sobre el amor y el destino, nos presenta una lucha entre el cielo y el infierno, pues detrás de todo lo que le sucede a Lucinda y su amor por Daniel, hay un trasfondo bastante profundo que desafía lo que serían las leyes del cielo y los ángeles. Hay un castigo que está siendo impuesto, condenado a repetirse hasta que no se cambie el curso del destino.

The main character is a taciturn young girl named Lucinda (Luce), who since she was a child has not had it easy, because she sees dark apparitions (shadows) that torment her. Because of this, she has gone to psychologists and was even medicated. Everything gets more complicated when at seventeen she is accused of having murdered her boyfriend (not at all, Luce is a good girl) and consequently she is sent to a reformatory.
At the reformatory she will meet Daniel, a boy with whom she will feel an inexplicable attraction, she will also meet Penn who will become her best friend and Cam, a very mysterious individual with questionable intentions, who will always try to get Luce's attention.
This book despite being a story about love and destiny, presents us a battle between heaven and hell, because behind everything that happens to Lucinda and her love for Daniel, there is a deep background that defies what would be the laws of heaven and the angels. There is a punishment that is being imposed, condemned to repeat itself until the course of destiny is not changed.
Una de las cosas que destaco de este libro es que la autora se informó bien acerca de los ángeles caídos antes de adentrarse a escribir sobre ellos, se puede notar en este libro y en los siguientes. Ella no solo decidió escribir una simple historia de amor, sino que se dedicó a investigar en la biblia y otros lugares sobre lo que se dice o sabe de los ángeles, cosa que es de apreciar.
La forma en la que está narrada la historia es agradable, se hace fácil de leer y tiene una continuidad coherente. Su desarrollo, aunque puede parecer simple, esconde una gran profundidad, pues la historia de Luce y Daniel no es una sencilla, su amor es uno tormentoso y está en el centro de fuerzas superiores que lo quieren impedir a toda costa.
Debo decir que para una historia que tiene tan buena base, en los libros siguientes muchas cosas podían haber sido ejecutadas mejor, pero bueno, eso es algo de los libros siguientes.
Les cuento que la historia de "Oscuros" es una de esas historias en donde llama más la atención el chico secundario que el principal, o por lo menos para mí fue así, me declaro culpable ja, ja, ja. Me gusto más Cam que Daniel. Sé que no estoy sola en esto, pues Cam reunió una gran cantidad de fans y gracias a ello le sacaron un libro propio (siii 🎉).
One of the things that stands out in this book is that the author was well informed about the fallen angels before writing about them, it can be noticed in this book and in the following ones. She not only decided to write a simple love story, but she dedicated herself to research in the bible and other places about what is said or known about angels, which is to be appreciated.
The way the story is narrated is enjoyable, it is easy to read and has a coherent continuity. Its development although it may seem simple hides a great depth, because the story of Luce and Daniel is not a simple one, their love is a tormented one and it is in the center of superior forces that want to prevent it at all costs.
I must say that for a story that has such a good foundation, in the following books many things could have been executed better, but well, that's something of the following books.
I tell you that the story of "Fallen" is one of those stories where the secondary boy draws more attention than the main one or at least for me it was like that, I declare myself guilty hahahaha. I liked Cam more than Daniel. I know I'm not alone in this because Cam collected a lot of fans and thanks to that he got a book of his own (yesss🎉).
Oscuros también tiene una adaptación cinematográfica, pero no fue muy bien recibida, mejor dicho, no fue para nada exitosa y paso desapercibida, en su momento yo ni me había enterado de que había salido y la llegue a ver mucho después. No pienso que sea mala, pero sin duda uno se queda con la sensación de que podía haber sido mucho mejor. Afortunadamente, pronto le sacarán una serie, no me quiero crear expectativas, pero ojalá sea buena.
Si te gustan los romances juveniles con un toque de fantasía, este libro te va a gustar. 🤓
Fallen also has a film adaptation, but it was not very well received, or better said, it was not at all successful and went unnoticed, at the time I had not even heard that it had come out and I got to see it much later. I don't think it's bad, but without a doubt one is left with the feeling that it could have been much better. Fortunately, a series will be released soon, I don't want to raise my expectations, but hopefully it will be good.
If you like young adult romances with a touch of fantasy, you'll like this book.

Hola, leí esta saga también en el apogeo de las historias sobre ángeles, aunque no fue una de mis favoritas. Si es cierto que fue una lectura interesante, hace mucho que la leí y la verdad no recuerdo tanto, pero es genial que le vayan a hacer una serie, no lo sabía. ¡Buena reseña!
