Blue Bears

Is this the last hurrah for the bear before the bull?

Fuck - I hope so.

Not that it has been completely bearish, but there hasn't been a lot of bull. Or perhaps, there has been too much bullshit, not enough charging bull. Most of the bullshit is just political nonsense where there is so much chum being thrown into the media, that the fish are already too fucking overwhelmed to even have a nibble. Not that the bait is edible - it is just trash thrown into the water so that no one else can go swimming.

Trump at the moment is goading Putin into becoming even more aggressive, which of course could backfire spectacularly in a mushroom cloud, but it is unlikely to be dropped in the US - So, he is willing to take the gamble. Fair enough I guess, since he has no love for anyone but his own reflection. Still, it is going to be interesting to see if Europe does start becoming more aggressive in the defence of its airspace, and starts sending troops into Ukraine. Sure, it would be World War III, but that might be what is necessary, because we didn't learn enough from WWII and WWI, which was considered the "Great War" until WWII arrived.

It won't take much to push the markets significantly up, just a little bit of global stability, just a whiff. But that seems to be a tall order in the current political hellscape that has been created to extract increasingly more from people, by driving their expectations of life ever lower. Soon, subsistence alone will be considered a good life. The bare minimum to survive and people will be grateful to their masters.

We are all losers in the current world.

You might not feel like a loser today, but the reality of society is that there is a point of maximum loser, where the weight of those struggling is so great, that it pulls everyone else down with it. As the rich get richer and the poor masses keep growing, it gets to a point of unsustainability, just like an aging population will reach when there aren't enough young to support them. And an economy will reach, when there aren't enough consumers.

They are going to have to generate and distribute some wealth somewhere, right?

Nah... Even if they realise that they are eating themselves into failure, they are too greedy to make any significant changes to the system they control. It is just more, more, more. Perhaps someone will come along and kick them in the guts like the glutton in the movie Seven. Except instead of spaghetti, wealth will slosh out onto the floor.

The lower our expectations get, the richer they become.

We should expect much more from life. And when I say "expect" I am not talking of entitled handouts, but real opportunity to generate wealth for ourselves, through a range of activities, and not get punished for it. Put a flat tax on all incomes including investment, take away corporate loopholes, have corporate tax paid in full in the country it was earned, and encourage people to work more, at many things, if they choose.

Reward the active more than the passive.

The thing is though, everyone dreams to live off doing nothing, but most don't have the ability to do that, so all it is, is a dream. For those that do have the ability though, they are able to keep expanding their earnings without doing anything, while the active will keep grinding away up an ever steeper hill, and always falling further behind.

The game is rigged.

At some point, we might wakeup like Neo in the Matrix and decide to not play the game anymore at all, and then the economy comes crashing down anyway. The benefit of doing it that way is, most people will be okay, but the very wealthy will find themselves with little of value at all, and no one willing to help them.

All we need to do is stop believing that we need their kind of wealth.

You know my feelings on Trump... Still having said that let's take a look at the performance of various crypto currencies that I am invested in since the day he took office on January20, 2025:

It might not be clear on the big chart so here is a close up:

So if you notice Hive was the one to have the highest spike followed by ONDO and AERO, yet the biggest winners so far are BTC and ETH... Everything is in a positive territory, though Hive is really lagging behind right now... giving us another "buying opportunity"

I am not saying the reason crypto is up because of Trump, it could be despite of Trump, but two major crypto coins are doing great since he took office...

Our of curiosity, have you factored in the devaluation of the dollar?

 12 days ago (edited)

Well not much I can do about devaluation of the dollar... Other than park my $ in hard assets like real estate and in speculative assets such as stocks and crypto.

Dollar DXY index is down 8.83% since Trump took office.

Yeah, I know - just wondering what kind of effects the devaluation has on the value of other assets like crypto.

I bet it is pushing all other assets up, unless those assets are already way overvalued even in relation to the falling currency. As they say cash is king...

Here is an interesting picture. This is a picture of what happened since altcoins bottomed out this year on April 8:

And here is what September looked like:

September is never a great month for crypto :)

Although I am not a crypto analyst, I believe that the price level will fall given the current situation. Like the entire crypto market, Hive Token also seems to be heading towards a bear market. This seems to be a good opportunity to buy Hive Token. Because at some point, the bear market point turns around and moves into the bull market.

Well, if it is heading toward a bear market, then it is a good time to wait to buy. But if it is bottoming out in September and will have a run in November, it is a good time to buy.

I'm still hoping/pushing for a "quiet revolution" because bloody ones always end stupidly.

Yep - I feel you. Unfortunately, I don't see a quiet revolution on the horizon.

Bitcoin is still above 100k. Ethereum is well above 3k. The real bear hasn't arrived yet.

Many HIVE holders probably won't like my $0.06 price prediction. But it's clear the price could easily fall threefold during a strong correction. I bought HIVE today at $0.18, and my stake has grown 20-fold in a month. I think it's time to start buying HIVE a little on the dips :)

It has been at 6 cents before. I am always buying Hive - no matter the price. Bits here and there will hopefully add up to something, But if you think it is going to 6, why buy at 18?

You have to start somewhere. And sometimes I like to act irrationally. Maybe the price will be $0.40 again on New Year's, and then I'll earn $5,000 for New Year's gifts :)

At some point, we might wakeup like Neo in the Matrix and decide to not play the game anymore at all, and then the economy comes crashing down anyway. The benefit of doing it that way is, most people will be okay, but the very wealthy will find themselves with little of value at all, and no one willing to help them.

One way to get rid of the rich is to leave this planet to them and move to another. :) Well, to do that, you need to be rich. Getting there, rebuilding it, requires significant effort and investment. It's best if the poor stay and the rich go.

There will be some poor people who want to be rich. Most people want to be rich. Someone with a little ambition wants to earn more as they earn. They want more, regardless of income inequality. The poor don't care. What matters to them is earning more. Unfortunately, the capitalist system has a downside. It provides the opportunity to acquire infinite wealth.

It's best if the poor stay and the rich go.

This is likely to happen, if they ever work it out. I don't see it being significant in my lifetime though.

Everyone wants more money, thinking it means a better life. I want a better life, even if it means no more money. The problem is, it normally does require more money, because that is how society is set up.

I am hoping this is just one final pull back before we see the actual bull run. I don't really know what to expect though. That drop below $110K was a bit scary earlier today.

It might go a bit lower yet. But hopefully once mid-october rolls around, it will be up for a while. I am tires of waiting for "next year" :D

I'm with you there!

I often wondered why key information about life are not taught in schools, like about finances and relationships. Academic curriculums are filled with bullshit like history and languages, which can be learnt by anyone without attending a school. Time passed before I guessed that the powerful elite of the society are trying to keep these Important information from the masses so they can remain in bondage. You can doubt this, but the finances of many will get better if financial education becomes a thing in schools, right from even secondary schools. Also the high rate of relationship failures will reduce if relationships are studied and taught like they do mathematics.

I guess they would do a crappy, self-serving job of it. I understand what you are saying though, because I think that they could teach at least basics of good financial hygiene. Relationships though, they push popular agendas without considering reality.

It is sad to see that a lot of people have just accepted a life of just getting by, while those in power keep benefiting from our hardships.

Not that it has been completely bearish, but there hasn't been a lot of bull. Or perhaps, there has been too much bullshit, not enough charging bull.

For me a bull market starts when 1HP is worth at least 1 dollar. So it is about damn time for bull to come. It seems that is has been ages since the last real Bull run.
