Happy New Year! I'm happy to share my new year's challenge to Plant Power, Hive Vegan community.
This year in 2024, I want to brush up my vegan cooking skills. My specific goal at the moment is this month's Veganuary (Vegan + January, a month of being vegan).

The New Year's brezel that we usually bake in my partner's family tradition, this year I baked a vegan version without eggs and butter.
I already had a base recipe I made for Japanese bread I used to serve at a local market. This time I replaced the butter with vegan butter.
I spread soy milk instead of egg, which made it a little matte, but it baked up fine.
My partner and I toasted and ate a few slices last night at the change of date, and this morning we had it with the whole family. Well done. I'm glad to hear that my partner and my daughter liked it as much as those we baked previous years.
I ate my slices with vegan butter.
Yes, now I'm on New Year's Day, the first day of Veganuary. I look forward the Vegan adventure.

ということで、毎年パートナーの家族の伝統で焼いている新年のプレッツェルは、卵とバターを使わずにビーガンバージョンで焼きました。
卵なしでふわっとしたパンを作るレシピは、以前マーケットで日本のパンを出していたときのものがあったので、バターをビーガンバターに置き換えました。
表面には卵ではなく豆乳を塗ったので、少しマットな仕上がりになりましたが、無事焼き上がりました。
パートナーと私は昨晩日付が変わるタイミングで乾杯して何切れか食べ、今朝子供も一緒に家族みんなで食べました。いい出来。パートナーと子供もおいしいとのことでよかったです。
ベガニュアリーということで私はビーガンバターを塗って食べました。
そんなこんなの元旦、ベガニュアリーの初日です。良い一年になりますように。そして日本の地震、大きな被害が出ませんように。

That bread looks delicious, it looks like the one made here in my country and it is called Roscon de pascua.
