Cornflake Cokelat

Cornflakes are one of the most amazing food ingredients in my opinion—simple yet incredibly crispy. They’re easy to find, but in my area, the original bulk-packaged variety is usually only sold seasonally. Typically, as the fasting month approaches Eid, cornflakes are widely available. This is because cornflakes are used to make many light snacks like cookies and others. The type I’m using is the original variety, meaning it contains no additives—it’s made purely from natural corn, making it completely safe for vegans.

This time, I’m going to make a different kind of cornflake: sweet and crunchy chocolate cornflakes, resulting in a chocolate snack you’re sure to love. The process is very simple: just melt some chocolate, add sprinkles, and you’ll have simple, delicious chocolate cornflakes to enjoy.

Curious about the step-by-step preparation? Let’s take a look below.

Ingredients

100 grams cornflakes
50 grams chocolate bar
Sprinkles to taste
1 tablespoon butter

Preparation Steps

Cut the chocolate bar into small pieces, then place them in a heatproof bowl. Melt the chocolate in the oven until completely melted, about 15 minutes.

Once the chocolate has melted, add 1 tablespoon of margarine to the chocolate, then return it to the oven until melted. Stir until smooth, For cornflakes, use whole ones, not crushed ones.

Once everything has melted, add whole cornflakes and stir until evenly coated with chocolate.

Pour into small cups, then sprinkle with colored sprinkles on top. Don’t forget to chill in the fridge for a bit so it sets quickly.

The result wasn’t quite what I hoped for—I think there wasn’t enough chocolate. I had intentionally reduced the amount of chocolate so it wouldn’t be too sweet, but that ended up preventing the cornflakes from being evenly coated. So, I recommend adding chocolate in a 1:1 ratio for the best results.

The taste is sweet and savory; I especially love the incredibly crispy texture—it’s just like chocolate-coated chips, that’s how I’d describe the flavor. Uhh, this is truly amazing—my husband, who loves chocolate, said it’s delicious. And I’ll try making it again later for my nieces and nephews during Eid; they’re sure to love it. Well, for those of you who have cornflakes at home, try this—I’m sure you’ll love it.
