Vegan chickpeas patties (recipe) πŸ‘©β€πŸ³πŸŒ±

in Plant Power (Vegan) β€’ 2 years ago

I still can't make tasty falafels so here I am making an alternative for them with similar taste 😁

It is crazy how many things we can make from chickpeas. Here I am sharing one option which can still be used in different ways - I eat these as plain patties with veggies and potatoes on the side, I put them on salad and next time I am planning to make a burger with them as they seem a great fit for that πŸ”

Note: You would need a blender/food processor for this recipe. I used hand blender and it does a great job.

You will need (for 11 small patties):

β—Ύ 1 can of chickpeas (240 g.) (or boiled ones)
β—Ύ Half an onion
β—Ύ 3 cloves of garlic
β—Ύ 60 g. tofu
β—Ύ 50 g. wheat flour
β—Ύ 2 tablespoons of nutritional yeast
β—Ύ 0.5 teaspoon of cumin
β—Ύ 1 teaspoon of seasoning mixture of your choice (I used seasoning blend for chicken (bought in a store), but plain salt is also enough)
β—Ύ 1 teaspoon of sweet pepper powder
β—Ύ Some fresh parsley
β—Ύ A pinch of pepper
β—Ύ Breadcrumbs
β—Ύ Oil for cooking

Preparation:

  1. Chop the onion and garlic cloves. Put all the ingredients in a bowl, except for the breadcrumbs and oil, and blend with a hand or other blender/food processor until more or less smooth mixture.

  2. Heat the pan with oil (the oil should cover the entire pan). To form the patties - form about 1 tablespoon of the mixture into a ball and press into a patty shape (about 1-1.5 cm thick).

  3. Roll both sides of each patty in breadcrumbs and place in a preheated pan with oil. Cook both sides of the patties until brown on a low/medium heat.

Enjoy!! πŸ‘©β€πŸ³

Good afternoon @plantasticka, good recipe, no doubt it can be part of a good lunch or dinner, it is a very nutritious and delicious. I am always amazed at how beautiful your photos are, really beautiful, which is ideal for food publications.

I wanted to make a recommendation, and that is to include more text in your posts. While it is true that you have been incorporating photos and explaining the recipe, you could talk a little more about it or the ingredients, the idea is that the post is a little more complete; and don't get me wrong, it's not bad, just a little weak in text.

Best regards and thanks for publishing your good and beautiful vegan recipes in Plant Power Vegan.

Hey @plantpoweronhive ! Thank you so much for nice words and the recommendation. I will do my best to have all of that in mind for the upcoming posts! Take care 😊

Hello, good morning. I wanted to invite you to share your Twitter profile on the following post: https://peakd.com/hive-180569/@plantpoweronhive/we-want-to-follow-you-on-twitter this way the vegan community will be more interconnected outside Hive

Hey! Thanks but I actually don't have and don't use twitter πŸ˜• If I manage to create an account there (as I had some problems before) I will leave it in the post :)

Ok, it's fine. Thanks for answering.

Thank you! Sorry I don't speak spanish or whatever language it is here 😁 But with the help of Google translator I can say that yes, fried ones are tastier for me as well but yes, it is much more calories and much more oil 😁 since in this recipe I also fried them on oil (just not that much) it turned out tasty as well πŸ˜€

Excuse me, if I wrote to you in Spanish I don't know why. Normally I use the translator to be able to comment on the posts in English. But thank you for taking the task of translating in order to answer me. But if we have to take care of calories, hahaha yesterday my mother-in-law sent me a package of peas I'm going to take advantage of it to do something similar, thanks for the idea πŸ€—πŸŽ‰

No worries at all! I wish to learn Spanish someday so maybe one day I will be able to reply in that language! 😁 Sounds like you will have a nice meal! Enjoy! πŸ˜πŸ’š
