Hoy al ir de visita al mercado municipal de mi ciudad me llevé una grata sorpresa, pues mientras me encontraba realizando las compras habituales vi una de las frutas que por mucho tiempo se me ha sido esquiva, se trata del popular mamey, un fruto de un sabor muy agradable y un color muy particular, desde niña me ha encantado comerlo pero siempre se nos hacía un poco escaso conseguirlo ya que tiene una temporada específica, pues al mirarlo en aquel puesto de venta no dudé ni un instante en conseguirlo y por supuesto de inmediato me dije que debía presentarlo en esta comunidad, así que se me ocurrió prepararles una rico dulce de mamey, que a decir verdad es una delicia y tenía mucho tiempo sin preparar, sin más les invito a continuación para ver los ingredientes que necesitamos y el paso a paso para la preparación de esta receta que además es muy sencilla.

Para ello necesitaremos lo siguiente:

INGREDIENTES:

• 1 mamey
• 4 clavitos de olor
• 3 ramitas de canela
• Una pieza de anís estrellado
• Dos cucharadas de vainilla
• El jugo de un limón
• Una taza de azúcar
• ½ taza de agua

Vamos a la preparación:

Lo primero que vamos a hacer es pelar el mamey para luego extraer su pulpa y picarla en trozos pequeños que luego lavaremos muy bien, es necesario retirar todas las partes blancas de la pulpa para evitar que amargue.

Una vez bien lavada la pulpa de nuestra fruta, la llevaremos a una olla para luego agregarle el azúcar, el jugo de limón, las especies, la vainilla y por último el agua, cocinamos a fuego medio hasta que la fruta ablande y espese como un dulce.

Y así de fácil y sencillo será el preparar este rico plato de hoy, un dulce de mamey, sabroso y nutritivo, este dulce es muy apreciado en el oriente del país y a los niños les encanta, así que cuando puedas y tengas tiempo te invito a que lo prepares, sé que te gustará mucho.

Today when I went to visit the municipal market of my city I was pleasantly surprised, because while I was doing the usual shopping I saw one of the fruits that for a long time has been elusive to me, it is the popular mamey, a fruit of a very pleasant flavor and a very particular color, since childhood I have loved to eat it but it was always a little scarce to get it because it has a specific season, Well, when I saw it in that stand I did not hesitate for a moment to get it and of course immediately I said I had to present it in this community, so I decided to prepare a rich sweet mamey, which to tell the truth is a delight and had a long time without preparing, without further ado I invite you below to see the ingredients we need and the step by step for the preparation of this recipe which is also very simple.

For this we will need the following:

**INGREDIENTS:

**- 1 mamey

  • 4 cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • A piece of star anise
  • Two tablespoons of vanilla
  • Juice of one lemon
  • One cup of sugar
  • ½ cup of water

Let's get to the preparation:

The first thing we are going to do is peel the mamey to then extract its pulp and chop it into small pieces that we will then wash very well, it is necessary to remove all the white parts of the pulp to avoid bitterness.

Once well washed the pulp of our fruit, we will take it to a pot and then add the sugar, lemon juice, spices, vanilla and finally the water, cook over medium heat until the fruit softens and thickens like a candy.
