Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to collect many things that one buys, and over time, one can see that one has several and could call it a collection. But there are other things that you don't plan for, things that simply accumulate, whether through a gift or a purchase, and when you least expect it, you look at everything and say, “Well, I think I have a collection now.” Just as I have shared my collection of cars, paper figures, and key chains with you, it was time to share my small collection of caps.
I've loved caps since I was a kid, and I was always told they were perfect for keeping the sun off my head, but over time they became part of my style and, of course, my daily outfits, except when I have to work and can't wear them. It wasn't an obsessive quest to have the best caps, luxury brands, and certainly not to become an expert on caps, but rather to wear them because they suit me and I like them. Many of the caps I have here at home arrived little by little, and I don't even remember how I got them. The same thing happens with key chains: when you look in every corner of the house, there's one. Now, as the years go by, when I see them all together, I feel that each one has a story to tell and, above all, each one is for a different occasion.
A lo largo de mi vida he tenido la oportunidad de coleccionar muchas cosas que uno va comprando y con el tiempo uno puede ver que tiene varias y podría llamarse una colección. Pero hay otras cosas que uno no planea, y cosas que simplemente se van acumulando, ya sea por un regalo o una compra que se haga, y en el momento menos espero mira todo y dices: Bueno, creo que ya tengo una colección, tal como les he compartido mi colección de carros, de figuras de papel, los llaveros, sin embargo, ya era momento de compartir mi pequeña colección de gorras.
Me gustan mucho las gorras desde pequeño y siempre me decían que eran perfectas para no agarrar sol, pero con el tiempo se volvieron parte de mi estilo y por supuesto de los outfits del día, pero menos cuando me toca trabajar que no puede usar. No fue una búsqueda obsesiva por tener las mejores gorras, marcas lujosa y muchos menos hacerme el experto en gorras, sino usar porque me quedan bien y me gustan. Muchas de las gorras que tengo aquí en casa fueron llegando poco a poco, ni me acuerdo cómo las tengo en mis manos, eso mismo pasa con los llaveros cuando uno busca en cada rincón de la casa hay uno, y ahora con el paso de los años cuando las veo todas juntas, siento que cada una tiene una historia por contar y sobre todo cada una para una ocasión distinta.
Of all the ones I have, two are already a bit old and were black, but over time they faded, and once I put one in the wash and it was the worst. The Adidas one was one of the first ones I got, and I really like it. It goes with everything, and I also use it for the gym, so I wear it much more than the others. I have a Nike one in the same worn style, which is my go-to cap for quiet days when I just want to feel comfortable without drawing attention to myself. Another part of the collection is that red cap. I only have one of those and I don't wear it very often, as that color is very striking, vibrant, and almost impossible to ignore. That's the cap for special occasions, and having the Adidas logo in white gives it a special and unique touch.
De todas las que tengo, dos ya están algo viejas y eran de color negro, pero con el tiempo se fueron decolorando y en una oportunidad la metí a lavar y fue lo peor, la cual es la Adidas fue de las primeras y me gusta mucho, combina con todo y esta la uso también para el gimnasio, por eso su uso es mucho mayor que las demás, ese mismo estilo de desgastada está una Nike, siendo esa gorra típica para los días tranquilos, cuando uno solo quiere sentirse cómodo sin llamar la atención. Otra que forma parte de la colección es esa gorra roja, solo tengo una de esas y la uso muy poco, ya que ese color es muy llamativo, vibrante y casi imposible de ignorar. Esa es la gorra para ocasiones especiales y al tener el logo de Adidas en blanco le da un toque especial y único a esa gorra.
I also have some burgundy ones, which are from the same brand and are newer, but that's another story. You can see that I have two burgundy Nike caps, as one belongs to my brother and the other to me. It was a great gift, which is why I have two, but even so, it's a very nice color and has personality, as it's not flashy, but it doesn't get lost either. It's that middle ground that goes with everything, quick outings and mornings when you want to look good without complicating things. I always have it on hand for any occasion. Right there are some black caps from a well-known brand, Champion, which are the definition of classic. They never fail, and being black, they go with everything. They're the kind of caps that, even though there are others in that color, always end up being the safe choice.
También tengo unas de color vino tinto, la cual son de la marca y estás si son más nuevas y por son otra historia para contar. Se nota que tengo dos gorras Nike vino tinto, ya que es una de mi hermano y la otra mi, la fue un gran regalo y por eso están repetidas, aun así es un color muy bonito y tiene una personalidad, puesto que no es llamativa, pero tampoco se pierde. Es ese punto medio que combina, para todo, salidas rápidas y con mañanas en que uno quiere verse bien sin complicarse, además siempre la tengo a la mano para cualquiera ocasión. Allí mismo están unas gorras negras de una marca muy conocida como lo es Champion, que son la definición de lo clásico, no fallan y al ser negras se convierte en un color que va con todo y son ese tipo de gorras que, aunque otras de ese color, siempre terminan siendo la elección segura.
I really appreciate each of these caps and have to take good care of them. The interesting thing about this collection of something that everyone has and uses is what you discover when you see them all together: each cap represents a version of oneself, that is, for a day, a style, and even to lift one's spirits, as well as to be able to vary one's tastes. That's why, among this variety of colors and logos on caps, there is something hidden and the way in which one accompanies oneself.
I hope this collection continues to grow and that I can have more models, as I am a big fan of caps and, beyond being an accessory, they are memories, they are little clues to my tastes and what I feel with each one of them.
Cada una de estas gorras las aprecio mucho y las tengo que cuidar muy bien y lo interesante de esta colección de algo que todo el mundo tiene y usa, es lo que descubres cuando las ves todas agrupadas: cada gorra representa una versión de uno, es decir, para un día, un estilo e incluso para subir los ánimos, además poder variar los gusto. Por eso, entre esta variedad de colores y logos de gorras, se esconde algo y la manera en la que uno se acompaña a sí mismo.
Espero que esta colección siga creciendo y poder tener más modelos, ya que soy muy fanático de las gorras y más allá de ser un accesorio, son recuerdos, son pequeñas pistas de mis gustos y de lo que voy sintiendo con cada una de ellas.
