Este concurso me encanta porque me permite mostrar a la comunidad HIVE mi humilde pueblo de pescadores,llamado popularmente El Tirano debido a un pirata sanguinario que llegó a nuestras costas,sembrando destrucción y muerte a su paso,su crueldad fue tal que incluso asesinó a su propia hija por oponerse a sus planes malévolos.Este malvado ser se presentó ante la población con una máscara de bondad que no fue mas que un engaño para apoderarse de las riquezas del pueblo y de la isla,luego huyó dejando miseria y muerte.
I love this contest because it allows me to show the HIVE community my humble fishing village, popularly called El Tirano (The Tyrant) because of a bloodthirsty pirate who came to our shores, sowing destruction and death in his path, his cruelty was such that he even killed his own daughter for opposing his evil plans. This evil being presented himself before the population with a mask of kindness that was nothing more than a deception to take possession of the wealth of the people and the island, then he fled leaving misery and death.

El nombre legal de mi pueblo es Puerto Fermín,en honor a un gran patriota llamado Juan Fermín quién luchó durante las guerras por la independencia de la isla de Margarita.Mi pueblo por tradición siempre ha vivido de la pesca y este continua siendo la principal actividad económica en especial ahora que nuestra isla no escapa a la difícil situación económica que vive mi país Venezuela.Se generan ocupaciones secundarias producto de la pesca,vendedores ambulantes,pequeños comerciantes,empanaderas entre otros,todos buscando sobrevivir ante una economía asfixiante.
The legal name of my town is Puerto Fermín, in honor of a great patriot named Juan Fermín who fought during the wars for the independence of the island of Margarita.
My town by tradition has always lived on fishing and this continues to be the main economic activity especially now that our island does not escape the difficult economic situation that my country Venezuela is experiencing.
Secondary occupations are generated by fishing, street vendors, small traders, empanaderas among others, all seeking to survive in an economy suffocating.

El mar representa nuestro mayor atractivo,aunque tiene una zona de puerto pesquero,donde atracan los botes,una gran parte está apta para los bañistas,de hecho el pueblo comparte su franja de playa con otro pueblo cercano llamado El Cardón,pueblos hermanos,cuyos pescadores comparten el extenso mar para sus faenas diarias.Cuentan los ancianos que anteriormente existía un malecón para contener el mar,hoy transformada la zona en un paseo peatonal.
The sea represents our biggest attraction, although it has a fishing port area, where the boats dock, a large part is suitable for swimmers, in fact the town shares its beach with another nearby town called El Cardon, sister towns, whose fishermen share the vast sea for their daily work.

Nuestro primer Hotel ,se llamó El Tirano como el pueblo,hoy es una edificación abandonada,pero que se mantiene erguida y representa el inicio del pueblo en la hotelería .Actualmente cerca de la playa están ubicados dos hoteles Pueblo Caribe y SUNSOL, ambos hoteles debido a la cuarentena por el COVID19,estuvieron cerrados, desde el pasado mes de Diciembre de 2020 , aperturaron los vuelos comerciales,por ello acogen algunos turistas que disfrutaron del asueto navideño.Existen otros establecimientos de alojamiento como posadas pero estas están actualmente cerradas.

Nuestras tradiciones culturales se mantienen intactas,los velorios a la Cruz se realizan el 3 de mayo ,las fiestas en honor a la Santa Patrona la Virgen del Carmen se celebran en julio,su día especial cada 16 de este mes,fecha en la cual se realizan diversas actividades en su honor,una muy bonita es el paseo de la imagen venerada en un bote,mientrás otros la siguen en caravana,al mismo tiempo el cura del pueblo bendice el mar junto a la imagen,se pueden presenciar fuegos artificiales,es una tradición muy hermosa que nos une como pueblo.Obviamente debido a la situación del COVID19 se han suspendido todas estas actividades para proteger al pueblo.

Puedes encontrar el antiguo centro asistencial de la comunidad,también ahora un CDI ,Centro de Diagnóstico Integral el cual atiende con pocos recursos a personas del Municipio Antolín del Campo, un supermercado, licorería, pequeños establecimientos de venta de comida rápida,para comprar víveres tipo bodegas ,aun se mantienen,las antiguas bodeguitas cerraron porque sus dueños murieron.Existía un local dedicado a la venta de materiales de construcción,el cual generó por años muchos empleos para los nativos,sin embargo debido a la crisis que atraviesa nuestro país,debieron cerrar sus puertas.

Nuestra antigua casa de estudios se mantiene intacta,sólo que ahora se ha ampliado y los nativos pueden cursar estudios secundarios.Sin embargo debido a la situación económica la asistencia mermó(antes de la pandemia) ,muchos adolescentes han emigrado a otros paises,otros trabajan con su padres en la pesca.

Si alguna vez llegas a visitarnos seguro encontrarás quien te cante una décima de galerón alusiva a la pesca o a cualquier tema en particular, de hecho el pueblo cuenta con una Escuela de Galerón llamada “Domingo Acosta” en honor a un pescador muy noble ,muerto tragicámente hace muchos años;podrás degustar un rico pescado frito,un hervido de pescado acompañado de una rica arepa , un pabellón margariteño el cual consta de arroz,caraotas,tajadas de plátano fritas y pescado guisado,sin olvidar la rica empanada,una media luna elaborada con masa de harina de maíz frita y rellena con pescado guisado.
