Anyway, I was in a cafe after work this week and felt like the cake...although don't tell my girlfriend because it wasn't too far off from dinner time and she was making salmon and vegetables; I'd be in trouble if I ruined my appetite. I was happy to live life on the edge though, and take the risk.

So I celebrated my birthday with my friend in a café. This time, she treated me to this delicious latte and cheesecake with raspberry jam and walnuts. It was delicious!

Cheesecake is one of my favorites. I had a slice last week and it was delicious. There's a chain of stores that sells it with strawberry and chocolate syrup. You can also have it with ice cream, which I love. 🍰
I love cheesecake and ice cream but my condition means I have to eat low carbs and sugar so I've not had ice cream for years.
Although I can't eat a lot of sugar and carbs, I do occasionally mess things up. It's impossible to resist sweets, hehe.
Well, me? Just coffe this morning. No cake. Black cofee is mostly what I need in the morning to become a person, as my girl uses to say.

Is cheesecake low enough in carbs and stuff that you can enjoy it occasionally or were you living on the edge with this one? It looks pretty delicious. I haven't had a proper cheesecake in quite some time.
It's low sugar and carbs, and I inject insulin, every time I eat actually. Every single food I eat is carb-counted so I know what's up. My life depends on it.
That makes sense. I have a friend who is diabetic, but never tracks anything. It's a wonder he is still alive given how he eats. I don't understand how he gets away with it. Meanwhile my wife has kids at school she has to check in with every hour or so.
There's different diabetics and many don't inject insulin (type 2). Maybe he just wants to die early huh?
Yeah, my dad is more mild. This guy though he definitely injects. I've been with him a few times when his numbers went off the rails and it was a bit scary. You would think that would be enough to scare him straight, but nope!
