Anything worth doing, is worth doing poorly

If there's something I want to tell myself 10 years ago was that to take it easy - I was obsessed with doing things perfectly and as flawlessly as I could. I was too hard on myself that made me exhausted for several times.

It was pole that taught me how to let go of always trying to be perfect. In the first 3 years of pole, I strived hard to look as perfect as the pole dancers I aspire to but my body couldn't do it - it was just not capable, yet. Back then, I always taught that best effort equates to best results. This wasn't the case for pole. No matter how hard I trained, now matter how many bruises I get, my feet still flex, I can't hold a pose and I wasn't strong enough to look graceful.

But if I had allowed my "pefectionist" self to prevail, I wouldn't have taught my self to be better. In pole dancing, you cannot let the obsession for perfection triumphs over the idea of "just do it and stay consistent".

The most important benefits of "just doing it" was clarity. If you just do things and take action while trusting the process, no matter how uncertain, no matter how impossible the end goal - eventually it will give you clarity. Hence, it is very important to take action because when something is worth doing - it is worth doing poorly.
