Yes and it's an ole saying better late than never, lol.. The idea of UBI.. is much older than 3 years. It goes back to the founding of our country. It was championed by people like Thomas Paine. Interesting enough over the last 3 years due to our economic system not working for the average citizen. It has seen a renewal. Although the name UBI doesn't test as well as citizen's dividend or freedom dividend. Which is a more accurate description. People often confuse it with socialism and put it in the welfare category all of which is a complete misunderstanding of what ubi is.
If you were a shareholder in a company would you refuse your quarterly dividend? Of course not that would be ridiculous. Would you call it socialism or welfare? Absolutely not you'd think me a fool to suggest such a thing. So although many nations have picked up now on ubi. In America especially it would work well as America is a rich country. Despite economic woes in the comparison to what category America is a rich country. You can't have a concept of rich or poor without something to compare it to.
The other thing is the success of nations are instrumental to the citizentry. Companies and small businesses exist and can do business based on sacrifices of military personnel being wiling to defend democracy. It's not something where a man is an island. So your success and your very "concept" of you're stealing from me. This is "my" asset you're taxing. This is "my" freedom you're taking away.
Well a great philosopher said "freedom" starts at breakfast. go to minute 10:50 of this video and it explains just how much freedom or the idea of freedom you have
The point being your success is directly integral to the society around you and what it has allowed you to do. So UBI to me or the freedom dividend or the citizen's dividend means you have contributed to the overall success of this nation indirectly or directly. It also just happens that it can solve many other issues.. from job displacement.. unhealthy or obese americans because due to lack of funds they may have less opportunity to see out healthier food and or productive mental and physical programs. The injection of money into the markets could create a healthy economic stimulus adn the list goes on and on. In any event, we have arrived at a new era where ubi is taken serious as a solution in a scenario where we don't have many.

ALASKA has this, I believe you have to be there for a year to get started, but
it is funded by the oil companies... I think it is around $1,ooo a month? Might
be per taxpayer? SPOILER ALERT: Alaska is a REPUBLICAN State, so it's a
non-political value!
