We see all the Web 2 "owners" talking about building Web 3. Zuckerberg Facebook is now Meta, Jack Dorsey's Bluesky, and some other projects that popped out in the last few months, all with big VC funding.
All of them talk about decentralization and data ownership.
Will Web 2 let go of the power that they got from centralization and our data?
Is there even a way for something to be decentralized if there is an owner of a large stake? How important the token distribution is?
Use the Web 2, that you rent, to funnel people to Web 3 that you own.
Can and should Web 3 be made without tokenization?
How to judge if something is Web 3?
- Do you own your account or someone can take it from you?
-Can you access your data without anyone's permission? - Are there multiple frontends to access the data and can anyone stop you from making your own?
- How decentralized is it?
- If SEC (regulators) decides to file an action against it, is there a person or a company that they can go after?
