I did NOT expect this!
For a long time, having a pond was a dream of mine. Recently, that goal was finally achieved, but little did I know how much of a blessing it would actually be. As it turns out, and amazing amount of surprising benefits have come from having a pond on our property.
In this video, I share about how it creates a microclimate, helps with organic pest control, increases the number of dragonflies on our property (thus reducing the mosquito population), and also is a water supply for our beehives. Great video! Our small ponds also grow an abundance of duckweed, which the chickens love, especially in the summer. We don't get as many dragonflies as we did the first couple years with them, but I think it's due to a bumper crop of bullfrogs. We love the sound of the bullfrogs singing us to sleep every night.

I love ponds too - for all those reasons you go into, plus they are just so beautiful - water is always a gift, whether in a pond or a stream running through your land... there is nothing better! Yours is looking so beautiful now. So happy for you!
