Hatching WILD Baby Prairie Kingsnake Eggs

Check this out!

Whenever we find wild eggs in an area that we are disturbing or working with, we like to give them an opportunity to still hatch. With this batch of eggs, we figured that they were snake eggs, but just weren't sure what kind. We had to wait until they hatched to figure that part out. As it turned out, they were baby Prairie Kingsnakes (Lampropeltis calligaster). This makes the third species of wild snake along with two species of wild lizards that we've been able to watch hatch out. What an amazing experience! Enjoy the video!
