Here are highlight on some of the lessons i learnt in the Prayer meeting. Our Brother spoke about the need for us to stay focused and not allow doubts take the place of God in our life.
The verse that was contemplated during the prayer meeting was
Hebrew 10:22-26
22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
From my understanding, when you deliberately commit sin, after knowing all these truths that has been highlighted in the above verse, then there is no forgiveness for us.
•Our brother gave an analogy, saying, If you have a powerful weapon, there are 2 ways you can use it either for your benefit or for your destruction. If you are experienced and know how to use the weapon skillfully then the weapon would be of great use to you, but if you don’t know how it works but ignorantly use it, then you are heading for destruction.
It is important to know how to look at the word of God and know how to apply it to our everyday life so it can benefit us greatly.
•Another point that was emphasized during the prayer meeting was, don’t doubt God, because If there is doubt in our heart already, then we would experience troubles. It is wiser and better to trust God. Above all trust Him that he would forgive your sins, Our brother also highlighted that God is the one who forgives all sins, while Christ is our Mediator. We pray in Jesus Christ name so through Him, our sins can be forgiven by God.
Hebrew 10:22 highlights this points better. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water”
•If we trust God he will never fail, He is the only One we can put our trust and hopes on.
1 peter 5:7 says Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
While the Bible also remind us in Titus 1:2 that God cannot lie, so we can be rest assured that He would do what He has said He would do.
Titus 1:2
Says “In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began”
Our brother also emphasized that, If you doubt Christ and doubt God, then the devil wins the fight against you. But casting our faith and hopes on God and believing What Christ has told us, then we destabilize the enemy and he is defeated. If adam and eve did not doubt God in the Garden of eden, they would have not eaten of the fruit and allow the devil to win, it was because she doubted what God has said and fell from Grace.
