There is a very high and increasingly rising tension in the world today not on love or peace or of productivity but of Conflict.
The word of the Lord in the book of Leviticus 19:18 says;
“Though shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.”
But what we see in the world today is already contrary to the word of God. Could it be because most of the world leaders today are not christians or could it be because an external force dominates them and make them go against God's will?
Let's reflect a little on what's happening in the middle east today for example, it is as a result of bitterness in the heart, unending grude and hatred as well as a high level of unforgiveness.
What are the dangers that we could face when we don't obey God's will of loving our neighbor as ourselves?
We should always bear in mind that when there is disobedience, there will also be a consequence. We can see that even from the bible days if we reflect on the story of Saul who was once the great king of Israel and the story of the two sons of Eli the high priest. Disobedience brought about rejection and death towards them and it's interesting to know that even in today's world the same is still the consequence.
Here in this article we will be looking into this two consequences as it concerns today's world events:
Disobedience to God's word brings death:
Look into the world today, the kind of arsenals that mankind is adopting and many are still seeking to get their hands on are weapons of maas destruction, today we are no longer talking about war or arrows and catapult but war of bullets and nuclear bombs and it's interesting to know that the war of arrows and catapult could be singled to one offender or two at once but the war of bullets and nuclear bombs won't just kill an offender but will kill both men, women and children of different age and size even the blind, deaf and disabled that has nothing to do with any crime.
Now my question is if we are obedient to God's word will we be adopting this kinds of initiatives?
Just yesterday I laid my eyes on on a machine gun that can fire 1,500 rounds of bullet per minute, these are not just for decoration or to be put in a museum but these are to be fired on human beings with flesh and blood. Now you can imagine a gun of this type is not just designed to be shot at just a single person but for you take many more lives in a short time period when need be.
Now think about nuclear explosion, the very first version ever tested was measured at the size of kilotons and when tested, it's explosion shattered windows of residential houses located miles away. The impact was beyond expected and they were happy to call it a success. That same weapon was use to take more lives than has ever been taken since the invention of weapons.
And the bible says: love your neighbor as yourself. Do you know war, stealing and killings wouldn't happen if everybody starts learning to love each other as themselves?
Today the world is producing megatons of such terrible destructive weapon. Death is imminent when we keep going against the will of God.
Disobedience to God's words brings rejection:
Take for instance, there are many churches today were the word of God is being preached but because of the atrocities and disobedience to God's word happening inside some of these churches, the holy spirit has departed. The church building may look it's best in appearance and has a well known name but God's spirit is no longer present there.
How do we know this? We know this through discernment by the holy spirit.
A lot of people now are more focused on the treasures of the world than to fulfill their primary assessment which is their true calling. On every individual there is a calling but how can we fulfill God's calling if we don't first start by loving one another?
Conclusion:
It is of great importance to know and obey every word that comes out the mouth of God because when we do, we can be able to avoid the consequences that follows the children of disobedience and it's also of great importance to educate your family, friends, relative ls and the members of the public by any means possible on God's words and the consequences, the reason is because when we know and avoid without informing others we can also share in their punishment.
Because when the consequences of their action comes we also could be affected, maybe not directly.
For instance, a brother who stole or killed could also be caught and killed and the rest of the family will be in shock and grief.
Lastly, Obey God and trust in him with every fiber of being in you for he and him alone is the hope o our salvation and in him should our whole confidence be trusted upon.
