How to attain forgiveness of sins

1 John 5:16 If anyone sees his brother sinning a sin which does not lead to death, he will ask, and He will give him life for those who commit sin not leading to death. There is sin leading to death. I do not say that he should pray about that.

There is a sin that is not unto death. When we see people who commits a sin that is not unto death it is better we correct them and bring them back to repentance.

It is only sins that are unto death that can not be forgiven.

When a sin is not intentional, God pardons and forgives unlike people who test God and sin intentionally

There are people who remediate sins before committing sin, these kind of people sins intentionally. They test the mercy and grace of God.

Wr can not continue in a d ask for grace to abound, christ is not na minister of sin.

Matthew 18:21
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”
Matthew 18:22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

Jesus taught Peter how to forgive his brother, and not his brother alone, but everyone who offends him.

This kind of sin is not unto death, it is a pardonable sin, it it not a sin against the holy spirit.

Jesus wasn't encouraging sin, he is only showing the possibility of how forgiveness can be obtained.

Hebrews 10:26
For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

Whoever sins willfully has no more sacrifice of sin, anyone that continues to sin is crucifying Jesus again.

God is merciful but he doesn't wnat us to continue in sin.
