I love Mammillaria prolifera, I bought one yesterday with two flowers and three more to open, this is getting more and more interesting and I love that I am learning new names and species.

What strikes me is that those babies are also turning a little red like mine 🤔

@monster-one That makes me very happy in the region where I live in Venezuela. There are many interesting cacti. I will soon make a post about the cacti of my Region, among which there is Mammillaria voburnensis ssp. it is very beautiful its flowering and fruits are a visual spectacle. Thanks for the support and comment!

It is also strange to me, it is the first time that I see them of that color, they are generally lemon green until a certain age but these babies are made of seeds of very long-lived and enormous cacti, the largest Melocactus that I have seen look like elves from afar.

Greetings.

You are hooked! :D

Yes, they are. But there are also green ones.
I'm sure they all will be fine :)

@ewkaw Yes they are mine. I live in a region where there are many cacti. It is an arid region with a constant climate between 33º and 40º all year round, it rains little and there are many species, including Mammillaria voburnensis ssp. In some regions of Venezuela they are being finished by unscrupulous hands, they sell them collected from Nature and that is a crime. I have never extracted any cactus from Nature the fruits if to sow the seeds!
Thanks for the support!
This is how I will take photos of the development of the Melocactus. regards!

Nice! I hope you will show them more :) Also those growing in the wild. It would be nice to see them in their environment.
