Schiphol AirPort Amsterdam
Today we went to pick up grandma and grandpa who came back to visit us from Italy.
We love surprising them by picking them up. So me and the boys went to Amsterdam by car this afternoon. For us an our hour drive and now with traffic one and an half hours.
The airport is one of my favourites. But these days the airport is in bad news reports because of strikes. Stikes under employees at the luggage terminal but also among the security personell. In May when we travelled to Italy we had a two hour line untill the security check and there were times that even 3-5 hours was normal.
But it’s a business, Schiphol is alive and kicking. Again I have to say after all the covid 19 drama of not being able to travel.
When you see the terminals now and the restaurant’s and shops is a little village of travelfeed. Travelers from all over the world meeting loved ones, but also like us people that come to get loved ones who come to visit Holland.
The vibe is great. It’s just a Tuesday evening v but it’s very busy. The trains and the central hall way where trains meet planes is huge.
We had to see in the hall that the plane left Italy Verona a bit late so whe here checked the time of arrival. We had time to just walk around and get a soda.
The traffic tower is a great icon, and is in the middle. But again the vibe is great and the fact this is a Dutch icon made me document and photograph for this blog.
Boys will be boys , all different age and lenght but friends forever !
And rolling stairs and finding pokemons in Amsterdam is very cool.
Wooden shoes are our Dutch icon and ofcourse we have them here on Schiphol for everyone who want to make a picture.
Terminal where through we went to the engine of an old KLM plane to make a picture.
Long legs in a big motor hahaha!
Pictures needed to be made we have them from all their ages.
It took along time to get the luggage but that was okay, I understand and support the fact that equal chances and equal pay are needed !
Family complete, we had some dinner and went home. It’s always a great treat visiting Amsterdam. Untill next trip Schiphol untill next time, travel safe.

I love seeing all your random pics from strolling and waiting around. Seems so 'ordinary' but these are really special.
Like you I loved going to the big airport, Frankfurt in my case, and really just hang out for a while and watch people of all colors and ages, from all walks of life walk or run past and discover all the little shops.
These days I have to say that I dread going to the airport because it always seems to be a bit of a hassle getting there and being there. The people watching is still fun, the shops not so much.
Wow - those delays that you had at Schiphol sound real bad...
