A VISIT TO HOOVER DAM

in TravelFeed4 years ago (edited)

It was the beginning of summer 2019; I had completed my spring 2019 semester. It has been a while I was busy with the study. To be refreshed, my friend and me decided to go on a road trip. We had never driven out of Texas. We decided to visit the Hoover Dam and rent a truck.

We left early in the morning. There was not that much traffic on the way. We drove for five hours and reached our destination. The place was crowded. It was very congested to walk in the street. We hardly got a parking spot.

The dam was awesome. The Hoover Dam was the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. There were two towers, one tower showing the time of Arizona state, and the next showing the time of Nevada state.

There was a documentary video of the Hoover Dam for thirty minutes, where they tell about the history of the Hoover Dam. I loved watching the documentary.

It get to know the reason to build this dam.The main reason for building Hoover Dam was to supply the electrical power necessary to transport 4.4 million acre-feet—over a quarter of the Colorado River's average annual flow—to California.
